The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Wednesday, July 16, reveal that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) seems poised to make a dagger discovery while Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) police refusal worries Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).
After Cane updates Amanda on the story of Damian Kane’s (Jermaine Rivers) death, he’ll fill her in on Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) taking the lead on this investigation.
Amanda will have concerns since Cane is paying Chance half a million dollars to serve as his private investigator instead of just calling the authorities.
Cane’s refusal to bring the cops in on this right away will no doubt leave Amanda on edge.
That decision could backfire on Cane spectacularly since it makes him look like he has something to hide.
As Cane’s attorney, Amanda will warn Cane about the risks, but Cane will insist this is how it has to be.
Meanwhile, Devon Winters (Bryton James) will put some puzzle pieces together, so he may think the clues all add up to Cane being responsible for Damian’s death.
Since Devon doesn’t trust Cane, he may suspect Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) ex would be willing to go this far to get rid of the romantic competition.
Although Devon will realize Chance views them all as suspects, he might insist Cane is the culprit.
As for Nick, he’ll make a stunning discovery on Wednesday’s Y&R episode. Since the dagger used to stab Damian is missing, will Nick find it somewhere?
Depending on where that dagger turns up, Cane may look even guiltier – at least to the guests who already have reasons to be skeptical about him.
Then again, maybe Nick could hide the evidence if it points to someone else.
Nick might want to do a little investigating of his own and try to get to the bottom of what actually happened, especially since Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is tangled up in all this.
