The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, May 22, reveals that Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will turn on Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) after he decides to handle things on his own.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will also worry bad news is brewing after a disturbing delivery shows up at the Abbott mansion.
At Society, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will fume over how far Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) went in his yacht plot.
Although Nikki will consider the possibility that Patty was behind the worst parts, she’ll still be fed up with Victor.
Jack will assure Nikki that he’s not trying to hurt her, but she’ll be grateful to him for opening her eyes to Victor’s level of dirty behavior.
Nikki will also appreciate it when Jack offers to be Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) official sponsor.
Later, Jack will admit to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) that he might’ve embellished the details to make Victor seem worse.
Although Jack will feel guilty about adding to Nikki’s pain during an already difficult time, he’ll hope she ends up free of Victor.
Once Jack makes it back to the Abbott mansion with Kyle, they’ll see that some flowers have been delivered.
The card will indicate that Patty is thinking of Jack and hoping that he has a reason to reach out soon.
Jack will mull over Patty’s cryptic message and will worry about the trouble he’s unleashed by recruiting Patty for his Victor scheme.
Back with Nikki, Y&R spoilers say she’ll find Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) day drinking at the GCAC bar.
Michael will mention his earlier meeting with Victor and will defend him a bit since his losses lately have taken a toll.
Nikki won’t be willing to give Victor a pass and will fear the damage between them may be irreparable.
In Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) office, she’ll find Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and admit she lost Matt.
Phyllis will blame Patty and fret since she no longer has leverage to get the charges dropped.
Lauren will think it’s time for Phyllis to surrender Newman Enterprises as a last resort.
Michael will agree when he arrives, but Phyllis will refuse to give up the only thing she has left.
In the park, Patty will play up how untrustworthy Phyllis is.
Matt won’t be looking for revenge on Phyllis, but he’ll be angry with himself for being such a bad judge of character.
It’ll also leave Matt wondering whether he can really trust Patty since he won’t understand her motives.
Matt will be skeptical about Patty’s recovery and won’t get why she’d want to help some degenerate man if she’s trying to prove to everyone that she’s changed.
Patty will play up their connection as pariahs trying to show they’re reformed.
Since Matt saw the real Patty and not a monster when they met, she’ll act like she’d never betray that.
Patty will flirt with Matt at one point and try to convince him to stay, but he’ll think he’s better off leaving Genoa City.
Although Patty will offer to make safe travel arrangements, Matt will think he’s better off doing things alone and will take off.
Patty will get irritated over Matt walking away from her and will decide to show him that was a mistake.
Once Patty gets Victor on the phone, she’ll mention that she heard he was looking for someone named Matt Clark.
At their hotel in New York, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will hit the sheets with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) before they acknowledge they didn’t expect that to happen on this trip.
Holden will eventually shower and prepare to visit Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) in the hospital, but it’ll be obvious he’s smitten along with Claire.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Claire and Holden could become a real couple soon, so stay tuned.
