General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, August 5, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) defended himself during Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) interrogation while Serena Baldwin’s (Kelly Kruger) plan went awry at the Metro Court pool.
At Bobbie’s, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) talked Serena into donning a swimsuit and trying to seduce Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) in hopes of getting their Deception shares back.
Afterward, Lucy expressed some guilt to Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) for dragging Serena into the scheme.
However, Lucy eventually decided Serena and Michael might genuinely be a wonderful match – especially since this could make Serena a Quartermaine.
At the Metro Court pool, Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) showed up with Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) while Michael and Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) were there.
Michael went swimming with Wiley while Willow hinted to Jacinda about looming custody changes.
Willow wanted Jacinda to keep her distance from the kids, but Jacinda acted like Willow needed to take this up with Michael.
Soon after, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) showed up wanting to speak with Willow, who urged him to make an appointment.
Brennan insisted they were past that and thought they’d proven the made good allies.
However, Brennan agreed with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) about it being a bad idea to pressure the PCPD into reopening Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting investigation against Michael.
Willow defended the plan and insisted the risks were worth it to her.
As for Jacinda and Michael, they considered whether Brennan and Willow’s alliance might lead to troubling news.
On her way out with Wiley, Willow pushed Michael to ask Jacinda what they talked about earlier if he could trust her to be honest.
Serena arrived and looked ready to kick off her Michael seduction mission, but she slipped and tumbled right into Brennan’s lap.
That left Brennan taken aback as he embraced Serena to keep her from falling.
After Sonny demanded another meeting with Ava, she showed up and faced questions about Ethan Lovett’s (Christian Howard) sudden disappearance.
Sonny suspected Ava might be why Ethan left, but she insisted he just bailed out of the blue and later called to confirm his departure via burner phone.
Ava decided to spin things around on Sonny and question him about whether he drove Ethan out of town instead.
Ava wondered if Sonny asked Ethan to kill Drew to keep him from going after Michael.
Sonny shut down that idea and questioned if Ava talked about stuff like this in front of Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).
Ava accepted that Avery didn’t need to hear about the ugliest parts of them.
Sonny ultimately made it clear that he didn’t take kindly to Ava, Drew or anyone else coming after his loved ones.
“There are consequences. Don’t forget that,” Sonny warned on Wednesday’s GH episode.
At the courthouse, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) rejected Martin Grey’s (Michael E. Knight) attempt to get Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) a different plea deal that didn’t involve prison time.
Outside the courtroom, Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) crossed paths with Curtis and Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper).
Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) intervened as tension erupted, so a Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) praised him for how he handled the situation.
While Molly warned Isaiah to maintain his composure on the witness stand, Jordan tried to convince Portia to soften her testimony in Curtis’ favor.
Portia stood her ground on being in Isaiah’s corner.
Once court was in session, Molly spoke to the jury and urged them to keep their attention on the facts of the assault – not the irrelevant car crash that the defense would inevitably bring up.
After Martin brought up that car crash in his own opening statement, he painted Isaiah as the villain for leaving the scene and for provoking Curtis later.
Next, Joe took the stand as the officer who arrested Curtis, but Martin tried to make it seem like he should’ve de-escalated things instead of taking Curtis into custody.
Once Portia’s turn on the witness stand came, she remained firmly in Isaiah’s corner and detailed how the injury affected his surgical career.
Martin eventually brought up Portia’s romantic history and asked how long she was married to Curtis before she started hitting the sheets with Isaiah.
General Hospital spoilers say Portia will have to tackle the rest of Martin’s tough questions, so stay tuned.
