The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, August 13, reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will spill some shocking news to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), so let’s talk about the secret Jill Abbott (last played by Lauren Koslow) has been keeping.
At the park café, Billy will meet up with Kyle and Jack, so they’ll listen as he explains what he’s uncovered.
It turns out John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) was the one who saved Chancellor from bankruptcy before Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) ever took over the company.
However, Billy will insist it wasn’t just a favor between friends.
Billy also uncovered a specific business agreement between John and Philip Chancellor II (Donnelly Rhodes) with an important provision.
According to the contract, Philip and Chancellor had 20 years to pay off the debt or else John and his heirs would get outright ownership.
Billy will note that Philip died back in 1975.
Since there’ll be no proof in the paperwork that the debt was paid off, Billy will point out that the Abbotts may own all of Chancellor Industries.
At his rehab facility, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will attend a meeting and open up about the difficult night he just had with a woman at a motel.
Marie Kirland (Jade Harlow) will come along after being released from the hospital and pipe up about how Nick saved that woman’s life.
Once the meeting is over, Marie will thank Nick and lighten the mood a bit by cracking jokes.
Marie won’t know if she’s going to stick with rehab, but she’ll acknowledge that she’s there now and urge Nick to take that win.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will talk to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) about Nick calling her in the middle of the night to come get him at a motel.
Sharon will reflect on how broken Nick was when she found him and will explain that he reached a low point with a woman he met there.
Mariah will note that Sharon always comes running when people need her and will seem worried about her mom doing too much. Sharon will think about all the times people came to her rescue over the years and will be honored to return that favor.
Since Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was concerned about Nick, she called Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about him going missing.
That’s why Nikki and Victor will be back on Thursday’s Y&R episode after cutting their Venice trip short.
Sharon will come along and explain a little about what happened, but she’ll admit Nick didn’t offer a lot of details.
As Sharon talks about Nick not being the same man and having to adjust to this lifelong battle, Victoria will snap at her.
Victoria will think Nick needs support instead of being analyzed, but Nikki will calm her down and suggest Nick has to want to do the work.
