General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kearran Giovanni recently made her debut as Dr. Nichols, the therapist who hopes to help Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) on the road to recovery.
However, it’s possible Dr. Nichols could ultimately get involved in someone else’s story as well, especially if she turns out to have a relative in Port Charles.
GH Co-Head Writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten shared a fall preview that offered some interesting clues about what’s ahead.
Let’s look at what the writing duo had to say about the fresh faces hitting the screen.
“We’ll introduce new characters — all of whom bear relationships to characters we already know…” Korte and Van Etten teased.
If that’s true and ALL of the new characters debuting have connections to established characters, then Dr. Nichols presumably has a link to PC, too.
Dr. Nichols is currently on staff at GH, but how long has she been working there off-screen?
If Dr. Nichols is fairly new to the hospital, it’s possible she hasn’t run into her link to PC just yet.
That brings us to another clue in the fall preview about what’s ahead for Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper). Van Etten and Korte promised that “a face from Jordan’s past will complicate her future.”
Fans are finally going to learn more about Jordan’s life before she came to Port Charles, so could that involve a family member?
What if Dr. Nichols is Jordan’s sister or another relative that viewers didn’t know about?
It’s possible that after learning about Jordan’s accident and how she could’ve been killed, her estranged sister viewed it as a wake-up call about almost losing her.
It could’ve prompted Dr. Nichols to take this job to be closer to Jordan, so maybe she’s waiting for the right moment to reach out.
It’s a possibility to consider now that Kearran Giovanni has made her first appearance as Dr. Nichols.
Giovanni might look familiar to some soap fans since she’s a One Life to Live alum who used to play Dr. Vivian Wright.
Of course, Dr. Nichols will need a first name at some point if she’s going to be a more important character.
Perhaps the show is saving that for when Jordan potentially runs into Dr. Nichols for the first time in many years.
There’s no guarantee the ABC soap will take the sister, half-sister or other relative route with Jordan and Dr. Nichols, but it’s a fun idea to mull over!
