The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, September 28, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will promise he’s really leaving this time as he says one last farewell to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will also extend a surprising offer to Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), which will lead to him figuring out her true agenda.
At the GCAC, Y&R spoilers say Cane and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will push each other’s buttons until Phyllis comes along.
Phyllis will make a hypothetical offer about teaming up with Cane at Arabesque, but he’ll think there’s more going on.
Once Phyllis is alone with Cane, she’ll admit she was thinking more along the lines of a one-time deal.
Phyllis will want to buy up the properties Cane acquired when he first came back to Genoa City, including the athletic club.
Cane will realize Phyllis wants to use his original plan to go after all the major GC players and will assume he’s right based on her expression.
Thanks to Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) news about Matt still being in town, the Newman security team will snatch him up.
Matt will be brought to the ranch, so Nick will blow his top.
However, Matt will promise he’s really leaving now that he’s tied up some loose ends.
After Matt confesses that he’s leaving with Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) and plans to get her to turn herself in, Nick will have lingering concerns.
Nick will want to make sure that Matt doesn’t intend on settling in Los Angeles next.
Matt will make it clear LA isn’t even in his top 10 list of places and will swear that he wants to get as far away from Genoa City as possible.
Matt will call this a “last and final goodbye,” but Victor will remain skeptical and leave Matt’s fate up to his son.
Nick will warn that it’ll end badly if he ever sees Matt’s face again, but Matt will stand by his claims that he’s disappearing for good.
After Matt makes one last speech about doing some good things in GC this time around, he’ll urge Nick to be a friend to Phyllis.
Matt will genuinely wish Nick well before heading out the door.
Once Nick is alone with Victor, they’ll both hope that maybe the Matt nightmare is finally over.
Over with Victoria, she’ll follow the directions Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has given her.
It turns out Kyle will rent a secret apartment that they can use to meet up in, so they won’t have to visit the motel anymore.
Once again Kyle and Victoria will indulge their apparently insatiable appetite for each other.
Later, Victoria will join Victor and Nick at the ranch, where she’ll learn Matt is supposedly gone.
There’ll be a moment of sweet family unity as Victor appreciates having Nick and Victoria working side-by-side at Newman Enterprises again.
Billy will run into Kyle at Crimson Lights and assume the smile on his face is due to positive things happening at Jabot.
If Kyle keeps making good decisions, Billy will predict he can keep being the golden boy.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle will inevitably shock his family down the road, so stay tuned.
