One character has been swapped for another character who’s disappeared from the ABC soap, so fans have been reacting to the onscreen development.
There was a time when Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) wanted nothing to do with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), but those days are long gone.
Britt and Lucas have formed a surprising bond after going through some dramatic storylines together.
Based on the scenes that aired in GH’s September 29 episode, there’s no denying it anymore.
It’s clear that Lucas has replaced Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) as Britt’s new bestie.
Lucas has become Britt’s go-to person to drink with and vent to.
Brad used to be the guy Britt would rely on, but now Lucas is the one she seeks out when she wants to rant about her problems over drinks.
Thanks to the fun friendship chemistry between Kelly Thiebaud and Van Hansis, it’s easy to buy Britt and Lucas’ new status as pals.
Some GH fans are absolutely loving these two in shared scenes and find them delightfully entertaining.
Other viewers can’t help but be a little bummed that Brad has vanished in favor of Britt and Lucas’ bond.
That’s especially true since Lucas is Brad’s ex and someone he no doubt still pines for.
Brad would be weirded out if he witnessed the closeness of Lucas and Britt gabbing on the couch together while guzzling cheap wine.
It feels like Britt’s breaking the friend code a bit by getting so close to Lucas, especially since he’s replacing Brad in that bestie spot.
That said, Brad will always hold a special place in Britt’s heart and will no doubt return sooner or later.
Perhaps Brad can make a comeback to reclaim his BFF status down the road.
It’s easy to imagine Brad wanting to take advantage of Britt and Lucas’ growing connection at some point.
Brad might hope that Britt can help him reunite with Lucas, but he may end up disappointed since the show plans on pushing Lucas toward Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) romantically instead.
Regardless, it’s been interesting to see Lucas go from being Britt’s enemy to frenemy and finally to being her friend.
