General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) recently had another fierce faceoff over Avery Corinthos (last played by Ava and Grace Scarola).
That confrontation brought a huge hint about the show recasting to deliver a teenage version of Avery.
In the October 8 episode, Sonny mentioned that Avery is a teenager now.
It sounds like the ABC soap is aging the character up just a bit, so she seems poised to become part of the teen scene in Port Charles.
That makes sense considering Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) was just written off the show.
Bluesy Burke is taking some time away to focus on college, so Charlotte was sent to boarding school in Maine.
Now the teen set is a little imbalanced and could use another girl in the mix.
Kayden Brenna Tokarski debuted as a Scout Cain recast earlier this year, so Avery must be next in line for a fresh look.
GH insiders insist that Avery is indeed being recast and will make her debut in the not-too-distant future.
All this talk about Avery being a teenager should set the stage for a new actress to appear and deliver some juicy drama.
Of course, teenage Avery will inevitably get stuck in the middle of her parents’ issues.
Although Avery loves both Ava and Sonny, she may have to pick a side as their feud gets worse.
Avery will have a big problem with Ava if she finds out her mom set Sonny up with Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) help.
Drew and Ava are the reason why so many people think Sonny is guilty of what went down at Pentonville, so Avery may fume over that news.
Unfortunately, Avery’s romantic prospects aren’t looking good since she’s related to all the teens currently on canvas.
Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout are Avery’s cousins while Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) is her nephew.
Even so, there’ll be some great ways to work Avery into storylines and make her a solid part of this teen group.
