The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one of Devon Winters’ (Bryton James) exes is set to make a big comeback in Genoa City.
Although many fans would love to see Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) somehow rise from the grave, it looks like Y&R’s going to fill the Hilary-sized hole on canvas a different way.
Devon could use a former flame around to threaten his marriage to Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway), but it’d be hard to explain Hilary’s return after she died in his arms.
Since the show still wants to shock Devon with a blast from the past, bringing back Roxanne Barrington is a good alternative.
According to TV Insider, Tetona Jackson will be playing a Roxanne recast when she resurfaces in GC this November.
For those not familiar with Roxanne, she made her debut back in 2007 and was previously played by Tatyana Ali.
Devon faced plenty of ups and downs in his relationship with Roxanne, including when he accused her of being a gold digger after he inherited his fortune.
That was a misunderstanding in the end, but no one can predict what Roxanne’s motives will be when she comes back around for the first time since 2013.
Will Roxanne have money on her mind or perhaps a missed connection with Devon?
Maybe Devon could even reach out to Roxanne himself if she somehow gets involved in the new college he’s starting in memory of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).
Whatever the case, Roxanne will come back into Devon’s life, so that could lead to problems if Abby gets jealous.
Abby and Devon both have experience in the cheating department, so it’s not a stretch to think their marriage could be torn apart by betrayal.
It’ll be interesting to see if Roxanne pursues Devon and how long it might be before he surrenders to temptation.
Regardless, Roxanne will pop up and offer a new story direction. It’s a sign that the new co-head writers, Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor, have made changes right off the bat.
O’Connor and Giddens’ material will begin airing on November 11, so it won’t be long now!
Since Tetona Jackson will be making her debut as a Roxanne recast this November as well, she’ll be part of the sweeps action that’s in store.
