Tonight’s Recap:  Ready for my Hart of Dixie fix. Last week we left Lemon jealous over Lavon and Ruby’s blossoming romance and saw Wade get schooled in romance by a teenager still in school. Lemon and Annabeth are getting their business off the ground now that the mayor’s race is done.

Zoe says she’s tired of faking it… No, not with Wade – that hottie knows his way around her body, but she’s talking about Ruby. She doesn’t like her. Wade says to suck it up since she’s besties with Lavon. George comes to Wade’s door and Zoe dives behind the bed to hide.

Wade wants to come clean with George, but Zoe says they can’t because they’ve been lying to him for too long. Wade’s not happy. Zoe’s insistent.

Ruby and Lavon are heating up the kitchen… by cooking breakfast. Zoe turns down breakfast and then a dinner invite from Ruby. After Ruby leaves, Lavon tells Zoe to get on board with his new relationship. She says Ruby’s not going to say and Lavon’s going to get hurt. She tells him she and Ruby are too much alike and her staying in Bluebell is just a fluke.

Reverend comes into ask Wade to ask him to lead an Eagle Ranger camping trip. Wade says everything short of hell no. But then George invites Wade out for a drink and says he needs to talk to him. He passes on that and uses the camp out as an excuse. He heads to tell the Rev that he’s in.

Emily and Brick are smooching at the Butter Stick and Magnolia comes in, unhappy because her Dad texted her. Brick wants to know how Magnolia would feel about Emily coming to live with them in Bluebell. She’s less than pleased, comparing it to late night nausea.

Lemon and Annabeth are chatting business when they dive into the bushes to eavesdrop on Ruby and a strange man. They’re discussing the proposal he’s made her and she agrees to one drink. Lemon’s concerned about “poor Lavon” and Annabeth cautions her not to do anything crazy. Lemon insists she would never do anything like that. I smell trouble and it smells like a certain citrus-named Southern belle!

Of course Ruby was discussing a business proposition (my psychic vibe tells me this), but even so, that’s not good news for Lavon because it would still take her away from him and Bluebell. Lemon was right, poor Lavon…

Lemon must be desperate because she’s scheming with Zoe! Lemon wants Dr. Z to interrogate the new guy to find out if he’s Ruby’s lover or not. Zoe’s not happy, but since she doesn’t like Ruby, I’m sure she’s in.

At Camp Chickami, Wade’s getting ready to head out into the woods with the Eagle Rangers. Then George shows up and Wade panics – apparently he volunteered to help out – and of course was a top Eagle Ranger himself. George takes the troops off to the camp and Wade gets stuck with crabby little Connor, a surly little butterball who does not want to be there…

At the Breeland house, Brick, Emily and Magnolia are playing a board game and Mag is dishing out loads of passive aggressive teen attitude. When Brick has to leave on a doc emergency, the teen bails on Emily, he’s noticeably aggravated.

At camp, Wade’s kid is struggling with his tent. Wade agrees to take over tent assembly if Connor will keep an eye out for George. Connor wants to know why Wade’s avoiding George and the best Wade can come up with is a cookie analogy. George walks up on his unawares and insists on talking to him – turns out, it’s not about Zoe – he wants to ask permission to ask out Tancy.

Meanwhile at the doctor’s office, Lemon drags in Mr. Buttle – the mystery guy under suspicion of dating Ruby. Dr. Z examines him and quickly susses out that he’s a headhunter and wants Ruby for a CEO position.

Back at camp, Wade’s talking to Connor about his problem with George. He told him George wants to take a brownie that Wade used to have but that he left in the woods, but he’s not sure he wants him to have it. Smart little Connor says for Wade to keep the cookie (Zoe) and let George have the brownie (Tancy). Wade marches up to George and tells him no, he can’t date Tancy. Guess Wade wants to keep all the sweets for himself. George is flabbergasted!

Zoe tells Lemon that Ruby’s not fooling around, but will still be breaking Lavon’s heart. In Lavon’s kitchen, Zoe and L are discussing Ruby’s out of state job prospects. He’s not happy. Ruby shows up for dinner.

At the Breeland’s, Magnolia’s crying in bed and Emily checks on her. Magnolia doesn’t want to talk to her, but Emily tells her she knows it’s about a boy named Lucas – she saw a text come in on Mag’s phone she left in the bathroom. Emily says he sounds like a jerk – she sees a photo of him and says he’s not too good lucking either. They share a smile.

At camp, George comes to tell him he doesn’t need his permission. Wade tells George he’s all wrong for Tancy. The Reverend comes to tell them it’s a red alert – Connor has waddled away from camp.

At an extremely awkward dinner, Zoe, Ruby and Lavon are making uncomfortable small talk. Lavon asks her about how her manicure went, but then points out that her nail polish looks like the same old do. She tells him to spit it out and Lavon tells her he knows she was meeting a headhunter. Ruby accuses him of spying on her – he says he didn’t. Ruby then accuses Zoe, who demurs.

Ruby blows up and says she wasn’t going to take the interview, but since he’s being such a jerk, she will talk to the head hunter Tim. She tells Lavon he hasn’t changed! Ruby storms out!

At the Rammer Jammer, Zoe and Lemon are back to scheming. Zoe says they need to get them back together – she has no idea what Lemon’s end game is though. But Zoe figures it out in about 5 seconds and busts her out. Zoe calls Lemon a super-villain and says she already broke Lavon’s heart and they need to help fix it. She says Lavon has the right to be happy. Lemon counters that she does too and storms off.

George and Wade are looking for Connor and George wants to follow Eagle Ranger protocol and call in back-up. Wade tells him they should just follow the trail of candy wrappers.

Wade gets a call from Zoe who needs advice. But when she realizes George is there, she asks for him instead, seeing him as a better advice giver. Wade is not happy about that. Then he blows up at George and tells him he can’t date Tancy because she’ll just be a place holder while he waits to be with the girl he thinks he’s meant to be with – Zoe! They’re interrupted by Connor who’s up a tree above them. He tells George that he’s heard he likes cookies.

Zoe’s trying to make things right and tells Ruby it’s her fault for meddling – that she got into Lavon’s head and planted doubts to protect him. Ruby tells her it was probably a favor because she never meant to stay in Bluebell and that she can’t stay there.

Lemon brings Lavon his favorite cake and tells him she’s sorry about Ruby and about her hurting him as well. He tells her he’d been afraid to open up after she hurt him and that he was surprised at how hard he fell for Ruby. He’s heartbroken all over again and Lemon can’t stand it.

She calls Zoe to hatch a new scheme to reunite the two, but Z tells her it’s too far gone. Lemon tells her she doesn’t know who she’s dealing with. They agree to meet and plot! I really like these two hatching plans together!

Zoe and Lemon are now full-on scheming with Lavon. They plan to divert Ruby’s limo and get her into a limo Lavon’s driving so he can make his case. He says he doesn’t have a case to make. Zoe tells him that the only relationships that don’t work are the ones you don’t chase.

Back at camp, Wade’s up the tree with Connor who won’t come down. He confesses that he doesn’t want to do the run in the morning because he always gets laughed at. Wade agrees he’s not the traditional Eagle Ranger type – he confesses that he dropped out of the Rangers after just 4 hours because they all thought they were better than him.

Wade says it was a big mistake because if you tell yourself things when you’re 10 and you listen, it can impact your whole life. He says there’s people he’s known since he was a kid that he’s always thought were better than him even though they’re not. I think he’s thinking he can give George a run for his money for the cookie!

Emily and Brick are smooching on the sofa. He asks her to come be with him in Bluebell. She says she likes her life where it is and how it is. He tells her not to make him wait any longer – that he’s put off love for too long. She smiles – looks like she’s tempted…

Lavon pulls of the limo swap and Ruby’s mad. She tells him he can’t stop her from going to the interview in Dallas. He asks her to give him just until the airport. She grudgingly hops in. Good luck Lavon. (maybe) Zoe and Lemon are spying and agree they hope it works. I’m still not so sure he shouldn’t be giving Lemon another chance, but I can live with it.

Back at camp, the run’s about to begin and George is looking for Connor. Wade’s letting Connor emcee the run instead of running it and he’s hilarious. He’s happy, the kids are happy, even the Reverend’s happy.

Ruby’s back from Dallas – she took the job – Lavon’s crushed. She tells him she won’t start until the first of the year. She plans to stay and see how it goes with him until then. He says she’s going to leave him either way. She says she wants it all and if they can make it work, she’ll find a way to do the job and have him too.

At the Breeland’s, Magnolia wants to know where Emily is – Brick says they won’t be seeing her anymore. Mag’s sad for her Dad. She tells him there’s other fish in the sea. Poor Brick – well at least he’s back on the horse again.

At camp, Connor’s finally bonding with the other scouts. George tells Wade he did a good job with Connor. George also tells him he called Tancy and left her a message about a date, but he assures Wade that he doesn’t see her as a place holder. He also surprises Wade and tells him that if he thinks Zoe sees Wade that way, he should talk to her about it.

Seems George has known about them for a while. Wade’s at Zoe’s door and she wants to know how his trip was. He tells her he wants to talk and she said they never talk, so they talk – he says he has two things to talk to her about. He tells her first, George knows about them and he’s fine with it.

She says that’s good, but doesn’t seem like she thinks it’s good. He looks heartbroken that she’s upset that George isn’t upset. Wade says he forgot the second thing he wanted to tell her and goes home abruptly. Zoe’s flummoxed.
