Prince William’s leave from RAF has unfortunately come to an end, just two weeks after his son, Prince George, was born. You’d think that the future King of England would get a bigger vacation to spend time with his baby, right? Well, you’d be wrong.
William is a search and rescue pilot for the Royal Air Force, which is about the most dangerous position that the royals would agree to when William first joined the air force. Considering that William’s job is actually, you know, a job [unlike *cough* Kate Middleton], he really does need to be back. Kate, on the other hand, has plenty of time to spend with her baby without worrying about maternity leave and all that jazz. Wait! Kate does a have a job – she’s a Princess of the United Kingdom….
Apparently, Will and Kate are currently busy with baby George at the Middletons’ Bucklebury home. A source explains, “This is now private and quiet time for them to get to know their son. [They are] doing well and are enjoying bonding time with George and being around family.”
Apparently, Will’s already looking to the future in terms of his job. Sources say that he’s looking to be closer to Kate and George after his tour with the RAF ends, and he’s already submitted his notice. The source adds, “William is ready to take on new challenges — as a royal and within the armed forces. The decision as to what the Duke will do once his current tour with the Search and Rescue Force comes to an end in late summer is still with the Duke himself.”
Well, William will obviously want to be closer to his wife and child, especially for the first few years of George’s life. It’s his first baby, and it’s an understandable desire. Luckily, he’s Prince William and will probably be able to take as much time off as he really wants.
