Nate was getting frustrated with Annalise’s somewhat oblivious attitude that she had about Frank so he decided to test on her tonight’s episode of “HTGAWM”. Nate had told Annalise that he filed a missing person’s report on Frank and, like suspected, Annalise freaked out. So eventually Nate told her that he hadn’t filed that report, but he admitted that they should and he wanted to know what else he should be doing if not looking out for her welfare. However, Annalise was beginning to regret asking Nate for help so she told him that she would handle Frank and she also thought they should have church and state at the house.

Annalise said that she shouldn’t involve Nate into things that would get him into trouble and he had thought that was laughable because she had never cared about that before. But Annalise had meant it when she said she was handling Frank. She and Bonnie had secretly enlisted Laurel’s help to find him and Laurel had connections that they didn’t have. So Laurel had told everyone that she was going to her grandmother’s funeral when really she had gone down to Miami to see her father. The same father that Laurel had made no secrets about hating yet Laurel risked emotional distress to get the information they all needed.

Laurel’s father, though, had ended up blindsiding her. He had gotten a mediator that usually handles corporate disputes to come in and help him with his daughter. Laurel’s father had said that he didn’t know why Laurel was upset at him so she snapped and told the mediator some of their problems. Laurel said that her father had left her mother when her mother was having mental breakdown. So once Laurel got started, her father tried to stop her only it was too late. Laurel also said that she had been kidnapped when she was sixteen and that her father had refused to pay the ransom.

He said that he couldn’t pay it because the government asked him not to however Laurel felt that her father should her loved her enough to ignore what the government told him. Yet, truthfully her father couldn’t do that. Her father ran a private security tech firm that made drones for the government so the government had a right to make sure that he wasn’t compromised. So Laurel had walked off when her father refused to help her with what she asked and she had just gotten back to her hotel room when Wes called her. Wes had been told by Annalise that Laurel wasn’t really at a funeral so he wanted to see if she was ok.

Wes had tried once to ask Laurel about her father and all Laurel back then was that he wasn’t a good man. So he asked her if she ok being around her father and she didn’t really have an answer for him. Wes and the others were busying working a new case that had come in the clinic and so Wes should have been focused on that, but he wasn’t because he was worried about Laurel and his new girlfriend had caught on to that. Meggy had left the room to give Wes some privacy during his phone call. Though she did notice that his face lit up whenever he was talking to Laurel and she filed that away until later.

Laurel on the other hand had had to hang up on Wes because her father had gotten back to her. Her father had let her know that he was bugging her phone and that he knew all about the messages she had left for Frank. So her father said that Frank wasn’t worthy of her. He said that Frank was beneath her and asked if she was if merely dating like him because of their difficult relationship and if she now had a daddy complex. But Laurel said that not everything was about him and that she didn’t want him bugging her phone or spying on her. So Laurel was about done with her father when he said that he would help if she signed for him.

Laurel, though, didn’t want to do that and she kicked him out. However, nothing else had been going right for Annalise by that point so it didn’t even bug her that Laurel hadn’t called her. Annalise had just gotten so frustrated by her client that she was willing to murder someone. Toby Solomon who had once been a millionaire had been allegedly left bankrupt after going through five attorneys during his murder trial. So Toby had gone to Annalise because he needed someone to take his case pro bono and she needed exposure yet Toby eventually made Annalise taking him on a client. Toby had been accused of killing a girl.

Technically, Virginia Michaelson had overdosed yet Toby had then taken a selfie picture with her and had dropped off her body on the street. So the ADA wanted to hang him. He had a chance to call 911 for the girl and instead he had taken a photo. Then he had just dropped her off on the street as if she was trash. Though apparently all of that wasn’t the worst that Toby ever did. Toby also killed a girl by bashing in her head in and had left her body in a freezer so Toby had actually killed two women.

The world however had only known about one. So Toby was in a lot of trouble and one of the attorneys he fired previously was blackmailing him about the second body that no one knew about. Yet, luckily for him, Annalise was able to get him three years for what he did to Virginia and she also got him a deal based on his testimony against another inmate for the murder of Janey Sherman. Janey being his second body. So Annalise had gotten Toby off lightly though surprisingly he hadn’t seen it that way. Toby said that he hired her because she promised she could get him and that three years wasn’t getting him off on the charges.

So Annalise slapped him. She slapped him because he was whiny about three years when he killed two people. But a good slap of reality helped Toby to understand that he was going to go to jail and Annalise practically dared him to see if he would ask for his blackmail money back. He didn’t but Michaela had taken twenty grand of it to go gambling and she had lost all of it so she took her old engagement ring to a pawn shop seeing as she had heard anyways that her ex-fiancée was now engaged to someone else. So the ring was fully hers and Michaela had no problem with pawning in order to replace the money before anyone notices.

However, Bonnie had told her not to do that again because she did notice and Bonnie had also made it clear that she didn’t want to talk about Michaela and Asher’s relationship. Michaela had thought that they needed to talk about it, but Bonnie said that she didn’t care who she was sleeping with. So Michaela walked away properly chastised and Bonnie took they whole two hundred grand to Annalise. Who then, funnily enough, said that Bonnie could just have it. Annalise had gotten the great press that she needed for the legal clinic when they helped the family of Janey finally find her body as well as the culprit for Janey’s murder.

Annalise therefore didn’t care what happened to Toby’s money. Though what she did care about was what happened with Laurel. Laurel had gotten a call from Frank and he had asked her to stop calling because Annalise had sent a hit-man after him, but Frank didn’t know her phone was bugged and Laurel made sure to hang up the second Frank began mentioning murder for hire. So later Laurel went back to her father and she did sign what he wanted in exchange for Frank’s location/ And Frank was apparently right outside of Pittsburg.

Yet, when Annalise asked for his location, Laurel had said she couldn’t get it out of her father. So Laurel had hidden Frank’s whereabouts from Annalise and not that surprisingly Meggy had broken up with Wes down the line because she said he had feelings for Laurel though six weeks later there’s someone that’s dead. And another person had been found in the house, still alive, so who are the victims of the fire?
