Local officials continued to shake their heads at the heiress’ treatment, with LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich calling her release, says the New York Post, “a mockery of due process.” He added, “You’re dealing with a spoiled brat who is having a tantrum to get wants she wants instead of serving her sentence as was adjudicated by the courts.” Now I like the sound of that, finally the truth! .But the Sheriff under fire for letting Hilton go home leant on the medical rationale, telling the L.A. Times, “justice is being served by the decision … She would still be in the county jail if it were not for the medical advice.” And as for her receiving star treatment, Baca said, “My message to those who don’t like celebrities is that punishing celebrities more than the average American is not justice.” And Rosie O’Donnell ? remember her? ? weighed in on the releasing of Hilton in her own mocking style on her blog at rosie.com, “Hilton is free/praise the lord/as America awakens/from a deep sleep.”
