Doreen Taylor’s wildly successful 2009, featured on “The Insider” and New Music Weekly, appears to be on the verge of extending into 2010. Taylor, who electrified audiences this year with her one-woman singing and dancing show and came out with two CDs as well, isn’t resting on her laurels. She can’t help it.
Several major record labels and modeling agencies are hotly pursuing the sultry-voiced, mesmerizing entertainer. As a result, Taylor recently announced that she is in “serious” talks about recording projects and modeling opportunities.
“It’s been a great year,” Taylor said of her 2009, “and I want to build on that momentum.” Taylor, whose brilliant singing and alluring stage presence played to rave reviews all year, especially during an enormously successful run at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City, also has another “very big” announcement to make—but not quite yet.
“I’m very excited,” Taylor gushed. “I can’t say anything yet, but I have something coming up that’s very big and I can’t wait to share it.” Industry insiders say that Taylor’s big news could very well be a concert tour, based on the response she got playing to packed houses in 2009. Taylor took the entertainment world by storm this year.
Show goers across the country are still talking about Taylor’s phenomenal one-woman act, in which she combines her singing, dancing, DJ skills, and knack for flirting with the audience into a night to remember for those lucky enough to be in attendance.
“Doreen Taylor is a supreme talent with sexy elegance,” wrote one reviewer. The modeling is something Taylor looks at as a natural next step. “I enjoy engaging with my audiences,” Taylor said. “And I look at modeling—working the camera, so to speak—as something similar to that.”
Taylor said several modeling agencies and “more than one” major record label have been pursuing her for quite some time, wanting to ink her for 2010.
But she’s quick to share credit. “I have to thank all my fans,” she added. “Their response has been incredible this year. I owe a lot to them, too.”
