Former Wilson Phillips singer, Carnie Wilson, 42, was the spokesperson for The Fresh Diet. Carnie has been fired from the company for not losing enough weight. Carnie says another factor in the firing was her promotion of a range of her own cheesecakes. The company feels it is a conflict of interest – how can Carnie convince people to eat healthy and then on the other hand tell them to try her cheesecake?
The Fresh Diet is a food delivery service which promotes healthy calorie controlled eating. A few friends of mine have tried this diet and really really loved it and have successfully lost weight. Ezzy Duchman, publicist for The Fresh Diet said:
‘We had to take her off the corporate website because she has not been a successful case. ‘She didn’t stick to it, and she didn’t lose weight. We had to cut ties with her.’
Carnie is blaming the weight gain on a small pancreas and a slow metabolism. I understand how hard it is to break bad habits – it is not easy. If Carnie wants to lose weight she will – but promoting a cheesecake line does not seem like a smart thing to do if you are trying to break bad habits. I also understand why The Fresh Diet dropped her – she was supposed to be promoting healthy eating habits. Seems to me her cheesecake promotion was a huge conflict of interest. Just saying!
