'Dancing With The Stars' Season 11 – Week Seven Recap

Previously on Dancing With The Stars Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani  graciously bid the ballroom goodbye.   Tonight because it is the 200th anniversary show dancers from past seasons are here. 

Round 1 the dancers are also seperated into teams: Team Kristi Yamaguchi and Team Apolo Ono.

Kristi Yamaguchi’s team

Apolo Ono’s team

  • Kurt & Anna
  • Brandy & Maks
  • Jennifer & Derrek

Team Kristi danced the Cha Cha Cha first –  Len thinks it is a really tough week – because they have to dance together and individually.  Bruno thought it was great.   Carrie Ann thought they were acting as a group and she liked them.  Scores: Carrie Ann, 8 Len, 8 Bruno, 8 Total = 24.  These scores will be added to their individual scores.

Team Apolo dances the Cha Cha Cha next – Bruno thinks they got it.  Carrie Ann likes that they all worked at their best.  Len thought the formation was great and individually they were all on their game.    Scores: Carrie Ann, 9 Len, 9 Bruno, 9 Total = 27.  These scores will be added to their individual scores.

Round 2 each couple will dance an iconic dance from a past show. 

To start Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer will dance Mel B‘s and Mak’s Paso Doble.  Len thinks it was Kyle’s best dance.  Mel B thought it was amazing.  Carrie Ann thought he was amazing.  Bruno thinks he had the attack and energy of an untamed bull.   Scores: Mel B, 10 Carrie Ann, 9 Len, 8 Bruno, 8 Total = 35. 

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya will dance Emmitt Smith‘s Tango.  Bruno loved it stronger, more confident and very suave.  Carrie Ann says he brought his character to the dance.  Emmitt thinks he looks perfect and the technique was perfect, very special.  Len says what amazes him about Kurt is that he comes back stronger each time.   Scores: Emmitt, 10 Carrie Ann, 8 Len, 8 Bruno, 8 Total = 34. 

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas will dance Kelly Osbourne‘s Viennese Waltz.  Carrie Ann thinks she is endearing but still slightly detached.  Kelly says that Bristol stole her heart and she thinks she is special.  Len says it was lovely – she lacks a bit of chemistry with Mark.  Bruno thinks she moves so well.  Scores: Kelly, 9 Carrie Ann, 8 Len, 8 Bruno, 8 Total = 33.

Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke will dance Helio Castroneves ‘ Quick Step.   Len says when Rick comes out and enjoys himself so do we.  He thought it was good.  Bruno though he did his best performance yet.  Helio thinks it was incredible and cannot believe they stole his kiss.  Carrie Ann thought by far it was his best dance.  Scores: Helio, 10 Carrie Ann, 9 Len, 9 Bruno, 9 Total = 37.

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will dance Gilles Marini’s Fox Trot.  Bruno says that was a fox trot filled with sex.  Gilles said he felt goosebumps he says the performance was unbelievable.  Carrie Ann thought she was elegant and beautiful.    Len says he just witnessed the most fantastic fox trot.  Scores: Gilles, 9 Carrie Ann, 9 Len, 10 Bruno, 9 Total = 37.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough will dance Drew Lachey‘s Tango.   Carrie Ann says she came back and blew them away.  Len says the tango was really well done.  Drew thought her lines were beautiful.  Bruno says she can go all the way.   Scores: Drew, 10 Carrie Ann, 9 Len, 9 Bruno, 9 Total = 37.
