‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 11 – Week Nine Recap

Previously on Dancing With The Stars Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya graciously bid the ballroom goodbye.   Tonight is the semi-finales and tonight is the most important night as the couples fight for a place in the finals.  Each couple will perform two new routines a latin round and a ballroom round.

Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – are up first dancing the Paso Doble.   Len said they came out and gave 100%.  Bruno say they released all their aggression and went a little unsteady for a few moments.  Some of the finesse went.  Carrie Ann  thought the performance was amazingly beautiful.  Scores:  Carrie Ann, 9 Len, 9 Bruno, 9  Sub-total: 27.   The second dance they are performing is the Argentina Tango.   Len said her extensions is fantastic, she created an atmosphere.  Great!  Bruno said it was full of flavour.  Carrie Ann said the dance was truly amazing.  Scores:  Carrie Ann, 10 Len, 10 Bruno, 10  Sub-total: 30.   Their total for the evening is a 57.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough – dancing the Cha Cha.  Bruno said it really was a vibrant and a sexy cha cha.  Carrie Ann has been waiting all season for this and she was not disappointed.  Len said what was fantastic was she combined good technique with a great performance.  Scores:  Carrie Ann, 10 Len, 10 Bruno, 10  Sub-total: 30.  The second dance they are performing is the Waltz.   Bruno said it was a gem of a waltz.  She is a great dancer.  Carrie Ann said it was one of the most beautiful things she ever saw.  Len said sometime a whisper can speak louder than a shout.  It was fabulous.   Scores:  Carrie Ann, 10 Len, 10 Bruno, 10  Sub-total: 30.  Their total for the evening is a 60.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas –  dancing the Paso Doble.  Carrie Ann says she was on fire – this is what they have been asking for all season.  Len said her determination showed and it was her best dance ever.  Bruno said the little lamb turned into a tiger.  Scores:  Carrie Ann, 9 Len, 9 Bruno, 9  sub-total: 27.  The second dance they are performing is the Waltz.  Carrie Ann there were moments where you drifted and there was a little too much space.  Len thought it was beautiful.  Bruno liked the way she approached the waltz it was haunting.  Scores:  Carrie Ann, 8 Len, 9 Bruno, 9  Sub-total: 26.  Their total for the evening is a 53.

Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer  – dancing the Samba.  Len said that what he likes about Kyle is that he comes out and just gets on with it and says he has a bionic bum.  Great.  Bruno said he truly is a bouncing bundle of joy.  He is a natural generator of energy and fun.  Carrie Ann said she has never seen as much pelvic action ever.  It was great.  Scores:  Carrie Ann, 10 Len, 9 Bruno, 10  Sub-total: 29.  The second dance they are performing is the Argentina Tango.    Len thinks he is a star – no one has ever come out and performed with so much attack.  Bruno says he loves him – he is Season 11’s Mr. Charisma.  Carrie Ann says he reminds her of Emmit Smith a former winner of DWTS.  Scores:  Carrie Ann, 10 Len, 9 Bruno, 10  Sub-total: 29.  Their total for the evening is a 58.
