The autopsy report said that the 12,000-pound killer whale pulled her underwater and she died of drowning and traumatic injuries to her body, including her spine, ribs and head. When you imprison and enslave highly intelligent creatures for no just reason and offer these victims of entrepreneurial greed no hope for redemption and freedom it is a wonder that more do not turn on their ‘trainers’ (‘trainers’ should be read prison guards). It is absolutely disgusting to take what is probably the smartest sea creature and turn it into a clown – imagine the stress and misery these highly social beasts endure. A life sentence so morons can sit and watch Orca jump and eat a fish from the hand of an idiot – can you blame old Orca from occasionally chewing off an arm or two?
Its too bad about the trainer – true it is sad and tragic – but it is entirely Sea World’s fault and the fault of the fans who pay money to see these huge brilliant creatures locked up and forced to perform. No highly intelligent animal should ever be allowed to be kept prisoner.
