After 5 years spent dodging justice the Toronto woman who slashed Leo DiCaprio’s face, Aretha Wilson, was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading ‘no contest’ to assault with a deadly weapon last month. Aretha is Canadian and after she is done serving her time she will be deported back to Canada. The incident that resulted in the arrest and sentence occurred back n 2005 at a party hosted by Paris Hilton’s former boyfriend Rick Saloman – Aretha, a former model, was an ex-girlfriend of Leo’s friend Damon Nelson. She began by screaming and swearing at Leo at the party and wound up slashing him on the left side of his face with a wine glass – Leo was taken bleeding to hospital and received 17 stitches!
An arrest warrant was issued for Aretha but she fled to Canada. The next year she slashed another boyfriend. Wyatt Cote, who later jumped to his death from an apartment balcony – for this is assault, in soft-on-crime Canada, she received a suspended sentence. Once her trial was concluded and she was sentenced L.A. police stepped in and she was extradited back to face trial in the DiCaprio slashing.
Slashing people seems a theme in Aretha Wilson’s life – maybe now she will change?
