Prison For Robert Downey Jr. Was No Big Deal

Robert Downey Jr. claims that prison was not that bad – and compared it to public school (??) – or going to work on a film set (???).  We don’t buy it – we think that Downey is acting tough again – the same behavior that got him in trouble the first time.  Having done almost a year in jail for drug and weapon offences committed in the 90’s Downey was a Hollywood “bad boy” who was hooked on hard drugs and the lifestyle that goes along with it.

But to say that being locked up in prison is just like public school or being on a movie set would imply the Robert is one tough cookie!  Public school students get to go home and watch TV, play games, sleep at home, and have lots of fun, and most importantly walk around freely – can this be said of inmates in prison?  What about film sets – we get the picture that there are sumptuous meals and luxurious trailers to hold the stars in between takes – not to mention the millons of dollars of salary that comes along with working on these film sets!  Downey is clearly being a smart ass – and that is something he didn’t learn in jail!

The one thing Downey admitted was that prison might have toughened him up a bit.  I’m sure it did but to listen to his interview one would think that this was incidental since prison ‘is not so bad.’ according to our hero.
