Sting: “I’m Annoying, But I Don’t Give A Crap”

Although the former Police frontman knows he can be annoying he won’t change because he doesn’t care what people think of him.   He told The Daily Telegraph newspaper: "For some people I am a pretentious prat. But they’re not people who actually know me. I don’t feel like defending myself that much so I’d rather say, ‘That’s fine, believe what you want to believe,’ I live my life."

Sting – real name Gordon Sumner – is adamant is doesn’t the need the acceptance of others to be happy, despite having a career based on people liking his music.   He said: "I don’t need everyone to love me. I really don’t."   Sting – who is married to actress-and-producer Trudie Styler – has come under fire in the past for his alternative beliefs.   The 58-year-old star has frequently spoken out about his love of Tantric sex, yoga and his advocacy of environmental causes.   He says of his campaigning: "People don’t want to hear it. I’m doing it because I have a stake in it, and because it works."   And he is convinced his strong beliefs have most likely hindered rather than helped him, saying: "Has it helped my career? I sincerely doubt it."
