Hollywood Megastar Tom Cruise – who played the fictional filmmaker in the 2008 comedy movie, and donned the character’s fat suit and bald head to entertain the audience at the MTV Movie Awards – wants Les to get his own solo big screen outing.
Speaking backstage at the awards ceremony, which was held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles, Tom said: “We’re working on it. Yup, we’re working on it.” The 47-year-old actor won mass acclaim for his comedic turn in ‘Tropic Thunder’, which also starred Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black and Ben Stiller – who also directed the movie. Tom’s recent turn as Les at the MTV Movie Awards included him performing a hip-hop dance routine with Jennifer Lopez, as well as doing a sketch with ‘Twilight’ stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. He said of the sketch: “It was a lot of fun – it was great. It was a blast!”
As well as the possibility of bringing Les back to the big screen, Tom is also set to reprise his famous role as Ethan Hunt in ‘Mission: Impossible IV’ – which is set for a 2011 release with Brad Bird directing. Tom can also be seen in action/comedy ‘Knight and Day’ alongside Cameron Diaz this summer.
