It looks like the internet is going to make its first discriminatory partition by devoting ".XXX" for pornographic web sites exclusively. This means that once .XXX is available regular hosting sites will begin to pop up that will not allow porno and more importantly, internet providers will offer service that will automatically exclude the .XXX band. Imagine how popular this will be for businesses, parents, and wives! I can see the ads "Now you can get great internet service without the bother and expense of that nasty porno… ."
In fact the .XXX innovation in many ways sets up more dangers than opportunities for online pornography since it sets up several natural ways to prevent and control pornography from being accessed. If I were a pornographer I would dread the implementation of an exclusive porno internet band.
