So I don’t really know too much about the old game ‘Battleship’, except the fact that it was a board game and you had to sink your opponent’s ship. So naturally, why not make a movie out of it?
And since you’re making a movie about battleships, obviously you’re going to throw in transformer-like aliens. Don’t stop there, you need the eye candy. This comes in the form of Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna, Alexander Skarsgard, Liam Neeson, and Brooklyn Decker. Not bad, not bad at all.
What is the movie about exactly? I’m not really sure. The trailer, recently released from Universal Pictures, shows all kinds of explosions, mechanical aliens, and just plain chaos – I’m not all too sure what’s going on though other than it’s a battle to save the world – what else is new. Although the movie isn’t necessarily my cup of tea, I’m sure those of you who enjoy action films will eat this up. I myself will see it just for Kitsch and Skarsgard. Obviously.
The movie is directed by Peter Berg and is set to hit theaters May 18, 2012. Here’s the trailer, check it out!
