It seems that the Jersey Shore crew is not particularly welcome in Italy. Many Italians, including mayors and prominent journalists, seem to think that partying and fornicating bunch from New Jersey play a stereotyped and unflattering version of Italians. Now why would they think that?
In any case the native Italians will be spared the invasion from New Jersey for the time being. According to sources, the delay was caused by a “logistical problem” and the production team is expecting to be all systems go a week from today.
Both the girls and guys (with camera crews in tow) were spotted in the last 24 hours gathering to head out to Italy but those plans are on hold for now.
Jersey Shore remains one of TV’s most popular shows – so whether or not it presents an insulting view of Italian Americans it is making lots of money for lots of people and thus will continue.
