Getting engaged is the thing to do this holiday season. John Legend is the latest to pop the question. The soul singer proposing to his long time girlfriend while on holiday in the sun drenched Maldives.
The 32-year’s Rep confirmed the engagement to model Chrissy Teigen but we don’t know exactly when he asked for her hand in marriage. There’s talk he may have gotten down on bended knee on Christmas Day. We might found out more this weekend when the Grammy Award winner performs in Las Vegas. He’s booked to perform at the Pearl at the Palms on New Year’s Eve. He may even decide a short engagement is a good engagement and take advantage of the string of nearby chapels. Although I reckon a quickie ‘I Do’ is not really his style.
The bride to be is a stunner. 26 year old Chrissy is a Sports Illustrated Model. She appeared in both the 2010 and 2011 Swimsuit issues. She’s been a covergirl for Maxim magazine. The American has also worked for Victoria’s Secret, Billabong and Rock and Republic. She began dating Legend in 2007.
Of course there was another engagement over the holidays in Hollywood. As Celeb Dirty Laundry reported Matthew McConaughey finally decided to make an honest woman out of Camila Alves.
These things tend to come in threes. Britney Spears and long time boyfriend Jason Trawick kicked it all off a week and a half ago when they announced their engagement.
One thing is for sure – we can look forward to plenty of celebrity weddings in 2012.
