Kim Kardashian‘s killer divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser, is out their trying to convince people that Kim’s marriage to Kris Humphries was not a sham – that the marriage was very real and that Kim intended to be married for a long time. We don’t buy it for even a New York minute!
Kim’s biggest problem now is no longer what ridiculous ‘K’ name she can come up with for her first born child with Kris – that won’t be happening. What is worrying the Kimster these days is the massive amount of negative publicity she is getting for making a mockery of marriage and apparently rocking the very foundations of that hallowed institution by filing for divorce after only 72 days.
Laura Wasser makes a very expensive publicist – but that is exactly what her role has become as Kim’s divorce lawyer. Getting Kim a fair settlement is trivial here especially with all of the pre-nuptial arrangement between Kris and Kim. In fact that is exactly what Wasser is using as the basis for her defence of the legitimacy of Kim’s marriage. They are using the prenup as a cover-up for the fake marriage!
As TMZ reports, Wasser not only filed the divorce papers for Kim, she also negotiated the prenup. Wasser’s point is that the prenup negotiations were so detailed, and in fact so bitter, that they prove that the marriage was not a sham. Only people serious about being married, says Wasser, would have such extensive prenup negotiations.
Wasser tells TMZ: “Our office did indeed negotiate and prepare a prenup for Ms. Kardashian. Given what I know regarding that document, it is not plausible that this marriage was a sham.”
Wasser — who is notorious for not speaking publicly about her cases — tells us the negotiations were “prolonged” and dealt with financial issues “that go well into the future” — markers that would not be present if someone intended a short marriage from the get go.
Sources connected with Kim tell us … the prenup covered Kim’s long-range career plans … as one source put it, “Why on earth would they [Kim, Kris and their lawyers] create a document which looks far into the future if they planned a marriage that would only last a few months.”
And the same sources tell us the prenup was exhaustive — 30 pages, including exhibits, tax returns and other financial documents.
What do we say to this pathetic attempt by Wasser and Kim to ‘prove’ that Kim’s marriage was ‘real?’ BULLSHIT!
This extreme prenup route is exactly the path Kim would have gone down if she expected a quick divorce: to make certain that all of her rights were in place and that she would lose nothing when she pulled the plug on her marriage and to make it appear that she was planning for the long-term. Of course we don’t think that Kris was part of the scam so he must have been shocked at the extreme level of prenup negotiating and planning that Kim insisted upon – poor Kris expected that he was getting married for real – for life! The prenup had to cover long range plans and eventualities or else everyone would have known the marriage was a sham. The prenup was simply part of the cover-up!
Stop trying to fool us Kim. Either admit that your marriage was a sham or explain to us why you needed to get divorced only 72 days after you pledged to be with Kris until the end of your life.
