Now that American Idol has been whittled down to the top two contenders for the title, it’s getting serious. On last night’s performance show (read our recap here), Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery sang their hearts out!
Tonight is promising to be a great night! CelebDirtyLaundry has learned that former mentors Lady Gaga and Beyonce are set to perform on the show’s grand finale!
Citing unnamed production sources, the trade magazine reported that in addition to U2’s Bono and the Edge performing with castmembers from the troubled Broadway musical “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” Beyoncé and Lady Gaga will take the stage.
The story claimed that both pop divas, who helped mentor this year’s finalists, will team up with all-time “Idol” champ No1Currie Underwood to perform a group medley with judge Steven Tyler and title contenders McCreery and Alaina. There is also unconfirmed talk that fellow judge Jennifer Lopez will also take the stage for a command performance.
Are you excited to see who else they’ve got lined up for performances tonight? Are you holding out hope for a live version of Telephone? I know I am! Stay tuned, as we’ll be liveblogging the grand finale tonight!
