Lady Gaga (whom I’ll one day marry) is used to parading around in barely nothing at all — and most of us have grown quite comfortable seeing her strut her stuff without any pants on. But Monday night at the CFDA Awards in New York City, L. Gaga pushed the boundaries even further by nearly baring everything the universe gave her.
Mother Monster received the 2011 Fashion Icon Award and had heads turning as she walked down the red carpet sporting a colorful bob, sheer bodysuit covered with a long skirt, 10-inch black platforms, and a bustier that was borderline transparent. People magazine reports that “the back of the outfit left nothing to imagination.”
As she walked up onto the stage to accept the award, the pop icon dropped the skirt and revealed her borderline X-rated self to the crowd, entertaining the attendees with a humorous interaction she shared with Vogue editor Anna Wintour:
“When I was told I won this award, Anna Wintour sent me a text message. It said, ‘We’re so excited to tell you that you won a CFDA Fashion Icon Award.'” I have a couple of Annas in my phone,” she admitted — Gaga wrote back as a friend would. “My reply was, ‘Yes bitch, we did it!’ Quite quickly, I got a reply that said, ‘How lovely. And we will all be waiting to see what you will wear.’ And I thought, ‘Well, won’t you help me choose what I will wear?’ And then I said, ‘Oh …. Ack. It’s Anna Wintour.’”
