While I’ll never be able to comprehend how exactly anyone could tire of hearing about one of the greatest boy wizards ever to have lived, I suspect many sane individuals — primarily the muggle people — are getting a little burnt out with all this wizardry. I apologize. Honestly. But that’s not going to stop be from telling you all about the new Lifetime Original Movie Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story, starring the beautiful Poppy Montgomery.
Normally, I stray away from Lifetime Original Movies — the very sound of those three words makes me cringe. However, I’m actually quite excited for this new biopic. What can I say, I love biopics!
Despite Rowling’s immeasurable success, much about her life is shrouded in mystery. While many people believe her journey only to be a magical and enchanting one, few know it was filled with unimaginable heartbreak, struggle, poverty, and abuse. If you find yourself at all curious about the woman who created a hero the world will never forget, make sure to tune in this evening. It’s sure to be a feel-good movie, with those moments of darkness and chaos that a Lifetime Original Movie never fails to portray.
Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story premieres today, July 18th, on Lifetime at 8:00 (but be sure to check your local listings to confirm). Are you excited for this? Let’s just hope Poppy pulls off the accent! From what I’ve been hearing she does, but we’ll see!
