Robert Pattinson, who is 24-years-old, didn’t always like dating women who were younger than he, like his current girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, who’s 21.
During his promotional duties for Water For Elephants, the Breaking Dawn actor said that he didn’t mind starring alongside older leading ladies like Reese Witherspoon and Uma Thurman, because it was similar to his own life.
He said, “Every girl I went out with in my teens was older than me. My first girlfriend was 26, I was 17. Women who were older always seemed more exciting.”
He revealed that he mostly did it to annoy other people. He said, “I used to think I was a bit of a bad ass when I was younger. I liked that it annoyed people how much younger I was. I liked walking into a room with a woman and people looking at us and thinking, ‘They do not look right together.”
Now, with all of the cameras on him, he has to take it easy with his personal life. He added, “It isn’t possible to get away with stuff with camera phones around. I can’t do it. If I have four beers, I’m destroyed the entire next day. I don’t understand how these stars used to go on benders all the time.”
