Things are looking quite delicious for fans of “The Hunger Games” as the film based on the best-selling novel by Suzanne Collins has finally cast its leading men.
After weeks of rumors with many young actors names circulating the internet, Lionsgate announced earlier today that the role of Peeta Mellark was offered to Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are Alright) while the role of Gale Hawthorne will be played by Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song). Rounding out the cast is Jennifer Lawrence, who was previously cast as Katniss Everdeen.
In a previous interview, Hutcherson said, “Peeta is so much who I am–self deprecating, a people person. And he’d be such a great character to play! Like in the third book? Oh my God..”
