The Prom-Themed 'Seventeen Magazine' Photoshoot With 'The Hunger Games' Actors

“The Hunger Games” release is still a few months away, but never fear! Celeb Dirty Laundry has taken an oath (a promise as good as Katniss’s flawless aim) to bring you all the juiciest, latest, and hottest Hunger Games gossip (the fun stuff) and news (the necessary stuff) while we wait for this fantastic movie to premiere on March 23rd.

Cambio recently went behind the scenes of a Seventeen Magazine photoshoot, which was prom-themed and featured a few of the actors starring in the film. The Big Three (Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth) weren’t part of the shoot, but four fellow — and just as deadly — tributes were. As they were photographed in some snappy styles, Alexander Ludwig, Dayo Okeniyi, Sam Tan and Ashton Moio all chatted about their proms and a little bit about what it’s like working on such a vibrant movie set.

Alexander Ludwig plays the badass Cato, one of the film’s “villains.” I place quotes around that because, while he is one of the main antagonists in the arena, it’s hard for me to view any of the teens struggling for survival as a “villain” — they’re fighting to live, to bring food/sustenance back to their districts, a cause I think we can all agree is a righteous one. Can one really criticize an individual who values their life, one who’ll do everything in their power to protect it? Essentially, that’s what drives Cato, and many other tributes forced to participate in The Games; that’s their main motivation, the steam that powers their engines.

All right, now that we’ve gotten that brief lil’ character analysis out of the way, listen to what Alexander AKA sword-swinging Cato has to say:

Dayo plays the tribute from District 11. . .

Sam Tan scored the role of the tribute from District 8. Turns out some of the stunt/fight scenes got a tad rough on set, which led to some sore noses and nasty falls. But, let’s be real, what’s a film without a a few bloopers/minor battle scars?

Ashton plays the tribute from District 6, and while he says that his stunt work required some major physical endurance, years of martial arts and similar activities prepared him for the role.
