Topshop Caught Promoting Anorexic!

UK store Topshop has been busted after using a tiny model who looks anorexic in their ads.   The past year there have been moves to use healthy looking models to promote healthy eating habits among young girls.  But, Topshop just could not resist and used a tiny anorexic lookin model on their website.  The model is pale and thin and the clothes are handing off her body.

Eating disorder groups have come out gunning for the store who says that the image encourages young girls who have body issues to lose weight to attain the waif look.  They said: “This is not the sort of thing we want to see in magazines and on the internet. It’s a constant battle against eating disorders and Topshop is not helping matters.  Images like this are effecting young girls more than ever before. Topshop needs to take some responsibility and use healthy models.”

It is so sad!  What on earth was Topshop thinking, shame on them! Why do they feel that using waif like models instead of healthy models will sell more clothes? What do you think?  Does using waif like models promote eating disorders to young and impressionable children?
