Melissa and Joey star Taylor Spreitler chatted it up with Celeb Dirty Laundry at the Do Something Awards over the weekend. The pint-sized 18-year-old dished on some show spoilers and even filled us in on life outside her hit ABC Family comedy.
But first, Taylor was quick to point out the day was all about giving back. Although she confided she couldn’t wait to get to the event to watch Fun perform, she said she couldn’t forget about the charitable kids and their awesome deeds which made the event possible.
“I just think it’s cool to come out and support these kids who are doing something and I think it’s fun to come out here and celebrate them and give them the night they will never forget,” she said in an exclusive interview, adding, “My dad is a huge philanthropist. Since I was a little kid we’ve always gone to food banks. He started his own charity so I do a lot of work with him. I love the LA Mission and anything to do with animals. I’m actually going to an orientation tomorrow to volunteer at my local animal shelter. So I love it. I love animals.”
Taylor is managing her time well because her acting career is certainly taking off. She plays Melissa Joan Hart’s precocious niece, Lennox Scanlon, on her ABC show but Taylor also has two independent movies coming out – one is a Christmas movie while the other just got sold to Lifetime. But that was all we could get out of the tight-lipped star who remained cagey about what’s in store for Melissa and Joey in its third season. “There’s a wedding that may or not be happening,” she said coyly. “We have 2 episodes left in the season and then we go back in January so we’ll be airing our third season in the spring.”
