CDL Exclusive Interview With Rising Star Angelique Sabrina

CDL Exclusive Interview With Rising Star Angelique Sabrina

A singing sensation is among us, and her name is Angelique Sabrina — a fourteen-year-old who is, without a doubt, a star on the rise.  Let me tell you something, chicas, she’s totally killing it with her new song “Pull Up,” which recently debuted.  In her video, she does it all: she sings and she throws down some fantastic dance moves. I tried to steal a few moves from her, but, alas, I better stick to writing.  Angelique agreed to honor me with an interview so without further ado I’d like to introduce you to Angelique Sabrina!

1. At what age did you start singing and dancing?

Singing and dancing have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was younger and my cousins would come over, we would spend our entire time together choreographing to “Thriller” or any of our favorite songs at the time. It’s always been my way of expressing myself.

2. When did you know that this is what you wanted to do?

It really hit me that being a performer was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life when I entered myself in a talent show at age 8 and wrote my first song. I had the time of my life and had to sit my parents down to let them know how passionate I was about it.

3. When did you get your first big break?

My first single “Pull Up” recently was released on MTV Buzzworthy and I’m incredibly excited! I have a lot more singles ready to release for this summer and I’ve got a great feeling about them all.

4. What music do you listen to?

I listen to a lot of oldies. I love listening to Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Lionel Richie, Elvis Presely, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Chicago, and so on. But I also love to listen to Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Lady Gaga. My iTunes is full of so many different kinds of artists and genres.

5. What musical artist do you look up to?

My absolute number one musical inspiration is Michael Jackson. I love to dissect and study his performances. His music is magic to my ears!

6. Where do you see yourself in a year or two?

In a year or two I hope to be making amazing music that the world can enjoy listening to and singing along with. I have a lot of music that I’m currently working on and I can already see that the performances for them are going to be amazing and it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Chicas, this girl has a good head on her shoulders, and she’s definitely someone to watch out for.  Ummm . . .  . Rihanna, looks like there is a new pint-sized sheriff in town.

I’d like to thank Angelique for sharing her thoughtful answers with us. Make sure to watch the video of her song “Pull Up” and don’t forget to check out her WEBSITE.
