Dancing with the Stars 2012 Recap: Season 14 Finale 5/21/12

Dancing with the Stars 2012 Recap: Season 14 Finale 5/21/12

Dancing with the Stars returns tonight with a whole new episode. After last week’s shocking elimination we are in the finals. Tonight the three remaining couples: Katherine Jenkins, Donald Driver and William Levy will face off.  This is the remaining contestants last chance to impress the judges and America in the two final nights of competition.

On last week’s shocking elimination, Maria Menounos and Derek Hough were sent home after receiving perfect scores.  If you missed Maria and Derek’s fabulous performance last week or any or the performances you can see all the videos here!

Tonight each couple will complete two dances.  One dance will be chosen by the judges it will be a dance that they have previously performed, but, so it’s not boring, the couple can add new music and new choreography.

Donald Drver and Peta Murgatroyd will be dancing the Argentine Tango, William Levy and Cheryl the Cha Cha Cha and Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas the Paso Doble.

The second dance is the ever popular freestyle which will be danced to music that the couple has chosen themselves, this sounds fun – I can’t wait to see what they come up with!

ROUND 1

William Levy and professional dancer Cheryl Burke dancing the Cha Cha Cha.

Judges Comments: Len: Fantastic! As good a Cha Cha as I have seen in 14 seasons. Bruno: That was that intoxicating Cuban cocktail of lateral forward movement. Apart from that your hip action was fantastic and I am green with envy. Your placement is excellent. Carrie Ann: This is where we first saw the magic that was William Levy. But what they’re now sophisticated and you have perfected everything.

Scores: Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10 TOTAL 30/30

Katherine Jenkins and professional dancer Mark Ballas dancing the Paso Doble

Judges Comments: Bruno: That was perfect I fell in love and with your artistry. Your lines were perfect and extended to infinity. You Exectued that technically perfectly. Carrie Ann: That was executed perfectly, great job! Len: It was like a plate full of tapas. Very satisfying fabulous!

Scores: Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10 TOTAL 30/30

Donald Driver and professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd the Argentine Tango.

Judges Comments: Carrie Ann: I loved it the first time and I loved it again. I wouldn’t say a lot more content. But what I love was there was new crsip moves. Once again I love the first one I love again. Len: I felt there was far more content. I like the setup and the content of the dance as always the lifts were great. For me it was a tad careful. I would’ve liked you to go out of a bit stronger. Much better than the last time. Bruno: I think you’ve been very clever again, you went for the subtle and intimate. Very small in the details and very strong in dance. It was very very effective.

Scores: Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 9 Bruno: 10 TOTAL 29/30

ROUND 2

William Levy and professional dancer Cheryl Burke dancing the Freestyle.

Judges Comments: Len: What you do, you do well. I liked it I like the lifts, I like the moves. But for me it was too predictable all you do is shake your butt. I wanted to see something different. I didn’t want to see lifts in a Samba. Bruno: You two are like devils unleashed upon earth a Latin extravaganza. Simple but elegant, great! Carrie Ann: That was exactly what a freestyle should be. It’s breaking new ground that that’s what you did! Good Job!

Scores: Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 9 Bruno: 10 TOTAL 29/30  For the night 59/60

Katherine Jenkins and professional dancer Mark Ballas dancing the Freestyle.

Judges Comments: Bruno: That was fast and flamboyant. I’ve never seen so much content, so fast and so well executed. You were on the money all the way. Carrie Ann: You’re such a fabulous performer. I just think that with that dance of a champion. You are a champion. Len: If I am asleep and dreaming don’t wake me up. This was a freestyle!

Scores: Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10 TOTAL 30/30 For the night 60/60

Donald Driver and professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd the Free Style.

Judges Comments: Carrie Ann: OMG, this was by far my favorite finals and this was by far my favorite dance. Len: Too hot to trot. You took a chance with that dances and you came out and took an enormous chance but it worked. Fantastic!. Bruno: I cannot resist a wild wild West ride and that was wild. As rides go this was ace high. A country inspired triumph
