Robert Pattinson WILL NOT Be Playing Finnick Odair In New 'Hunger Games' Film

A few days ago the world thought Robert Pattinson would be sinking his lil’ vampire fangs into another hot film franchise, The Hunger Games, but today we’ve found out that this isn’t true at all. Now, I bet you Twihards and R-Pattz fans are still hoping that there might still be a chance for his participation in the film, but when Robert himself shot down the rumor that he might be playing Finnick Odair in the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire, well, we had to believe him.

Now that the the first Hunger Games film has come to an end and has made a gajillion dollars at the box office, people are, naturally, buzzing about the future cast of round 2. There are a few new important characters introduced in the second book, one of them being Finnick Odair, who is described as being a good-looking guy who’s had past success with the games.

Apparently, the rumors even got R-Pattz excited! But, alas, he quickly denied his future role in the film . . . telling USA Today that he knows nothing about it.

“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games,” Rob told the news source on May 26th. “I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. [My agent] was like ‘no one’s going to offer you that part.’ I was like, thanks for the reassurance.”

I just love that little anecdote. Don’t y’all love how freakin’ blunt show biz is?

So now that R-Pattz is (at least for now) not an option, who do you think should play Finnick? A few days ago when the rumor first surfaced, I asked you all who should be cast in the role. Here are a few of the responses I got from fantastic CDL readers:

1. NOT ROBERT [LOL — well I guess it’s their lucky day]

2. Zac Efron [rec’d several of these responses]

3. Chace Crawford

4. Justin Timberlake [for some reason I just can’t picture him in a Hunger Games film . . . can you?]

5. James Franco

What do you think of our readers’ choices? Let us know what you think in the comments below! For those who don’t know, I love everything to do with the Hunger Games . . . . So, let’s get this conversation rollin’!
