Ryan Seacrest may soon be giving girlfriend and Rock of Ages star, Julianne Hough, the ultimate rock of love. Could Ryan’s motivation to pop the question to Julianne be the scare she gave him with her flirtation with Phillip Phillips on American Idol?
The American Idol host told Life & Style magazine that marriage is a topic that has come up between the couple. “It’s something we talk about,” Seacrest confessed to Life & Style. And a timeline? “We talk about that, too!” he admits.
The Barbie and Ken look-a-likes just celebrated their second anniversary together in Franklin, Tennessee and appear to be going strong. “[On our anniversary] night we talked about the things that we’d done that year,” Ryan shared, adding, “I think I did everything right!”
One thing not so right, fooling Julianne into thinking he was proposing to her on live TV. During last Wednesday’s Idol show, Ryan interviewed Julianne after showing a clip of her new movie, Rock of Ages.
“There’s something that’s been on my mind,” Ryan coyly stated, standing next to Julianne. “It’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask you, and I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable.”
Ryan reached into his pocket and looked as if he were going for a ring while Julianne turned nervously and said, “Oh, God.”
But her prankster boyfriend hammed it up for the audience and pulled out a folded note instead. “Will you…give this note I wrote to Tom Cruise?” he said, referring to Julianne’s co-star in the film. “Because I’m such a big fan.”
Bad form Seacrest. Bad form.
Julianne didn’t look too upset and played along with the joke like a modern day Cher to Seacrest’s dopey Sonny. Could a reality show be in the works for the couple? I wouldn’t count on it. When Life & Style asked if Seacrest was going the way of such iconic love stories as Kim Kardashian and Kris Krumphries and Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, he replied, “We wouldn’t televise our wedding.”
For their sake, let’s hope he sticks to that.
What did you think of Ryan’s faux-posal? Was it too cute or too much?
