Cathay Pacific airlines are not happy with former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham.  She found herself flying right into controversy (as well as Beijing), by sitting in a crew-only seat, a serious no-no regardless of celebrity star-power or stature.  The best part is that Posh was having a joke – and as you all know she rarely smiles – now she might never smile again!

“Cabin crew prepare for landing! Welcome to Beijing!! X vb,” she wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of herself in one of the crew seats.  Apparently it was taken last Friday on a Beijing-bound flight.  Beckham, wearing sunglasses, is seated beside a real flight attendant and appears to be making some sort of announcement on the plane’s public address system.

“The passenger only posed for the picture. No public announcement was made,” the spokeswoman said.

“It was inappropriate as … the crew seats are only for the cabin crew and passengers should not be allowed to touch any of the aircraft equipment.”

The Hong Kong Standard took issue with Beckham, claiming that she has been accused of putting the flight at risk, on some internet forums.   But honestly, isn’t Beckham always criticized for something on some forum?  Not that POSH is above criticism but this doesn’t really seem that serious, does it?  I mean she wasn’t flying the plane!

Did Beckham go too far – or do you think that posing for the photo op was completely harmless?  Do you think that the wife of David Beckham and mom of four was given preferential treatment in this case?  Do we really care that she took two minutes to take a fun picture or is it the principle of not following standard rules that bothers some?  Tell us in the comments section below.
