Beyonce had one of her Mrs. Carter shows in London, and according to the Huffington Post, she majorly embarrassed British royal Princess Eugenie.
According to reports, Beyonce had her audience members sing ‘to the left, to the right’ during the performance of ‘Irreplaceable’. Unfortunately, Beyonce ended up pointing her microphone in Eugene’s face – who just didn’t happen to know the lyrics. Or she didn’t want to sing.
Instead, she stood there while Beyonce whipped back around and continued singing the song, leaving the surprised looking 23 year old standing to the side. It’s not clear whether Princess Eugene was actually a Beyonce fan who was too surprised to sing or she was just curious and didn’t know the lyrics.
According to the reports, Beyonce actually may not have known who Princess Eugenie was – and for those of you who don’t know, she’s the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The Mirror even stated that Princess Eugene was sitting in the front row with other royals, and while Beyonce might not have known that they were royal, she must have known they were important.
You know, I don’t believe that Beyonce didn’t know who the royals were. Sure, she doesn’t read the Internet and tabloids like the rest of us do on a regular basis, but it’s the royals! How can you not know who they are?? I say she assumed that Eugenie would know the lyrics to the song, and I think Eugene was too surprised and embarrassed to sing them. Think about it – you’re a royal and you’ve just had a microphone thrust in your face. What are you going to do, actually sing the song? Maybe someone like Prince Harry would do it, since he seems immune to feeling embarrassment, but it pretty clear that most royals wouldn’t.
