Eighteen-year-old Devin Velez is from Chicago, Illinois he aspires to use his God-given singing talent to cause positive changes in a broken world. Sadly, his Idol dream has come to an end and he was sent home on American Idol tonight. Did you watch tonight’s show? We did and we recapped it here for you.
In the semi-finals, Velez performed “Somos Novios (It’s Impossible)” by Armando Manzanero. On March 7, 2013, Velez was voted into the Top 10.

The judges had this to say about his performance last night: Keith: “Once of the challenge you guys have when you do this show is having to learn shows with confidence and ease and it is not easy to do. There were moments I could feel you relaxing in that song. You have style.” Nicki: “That was an amazing job tonight. I loved every single choice you made. I am obsessed with that song. It felt good, yes sir!” Randy: “I believe Devin is back, I know what Keith is saying, but I feel like this was one of your best performances.“ Mariah: “I loved it! I might have wanted to hear Oh Baby, baby …. but I felt like this flawless! I hope American understands how good you are.”
