Kate Middleton And Queen Elizabeth Fight Over Royal Godparents

We knew the royal baby would be nothing but drama—besides the gender, the name, the outfits, the christening invitee list, there’s the appointment of royal god parents! As you might have expected, Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth are fighting about who will get the honor, and Prince William is refusing to back up his wife! As if facing the Queen isn’t difficult enough, Kate is all on her own, but won’t back down without a fight—no matter what her wimpy husband says!

National Enquirer, print edition March 18, 2013, reported that Kate “would like her wild-child sister Pippa Middleton and troubled younger brother James Middleton to be her baby’s religious sponsors. But the image-conscious queen feels Kate’s siblings are unsuitable, and wants the coveted roles for her son Prince Andrew and his 24-year-old Princess Beatrice.” Kate and her grandmother-in-law have been fighting every step of the way, and Kate is getting desperate for support from her husband.

William is still very much under his grandmother’s thumb, and Kate’s incredibly frustrated because she feels powerless,” a source reported. Kate’s had her siblings in mind, but “the queen let it be known to her that they were unworthy role models for a royal heir, and she wants granddaughter Beatrice and William’s uncle Andrew as the baby’s official sponsors.” The Queen isn’t all wrong on this—James “is teetering on bankruptcy, he had to hit up his family for money to bail him out.” He’s also got some sexy photos in a French maid’s outfit plastered across the internet, and a few full moon pics! Pippa isn’t much better—she’s “considered ‘radioactive’ for her party-girl lifestyle and the flop of her new book on entertaining.”

However, who wants stiff, by-the-book godparents? I’m sure Pippa could manage to pull herself out of a hangover to drag the kid to church, should the worst happen. And they’d both be the fun ones, who were forgiving about mistakes and encouraged personal growth and soul-searching. Despite Kate’s dedication to her siblings, William refuses to back her up and “changes the subject whenever she brings it up. It’s Kate’s first real taste of the queen’s iron fist, and she doesn’t like it.” Of course not! But it’s not like Kate will have her head chopped off—what’s she got to loose? Do you think Kate should bend to the Queen’s demands, or hold her ground? Is William being spineless, or just loyal to his family business?
