After months and months and months and months of anticipation [I say it that many times because the Twi-hards have been waiting that long], Robert Pattinson‘s full Dior ad has dropped on the interwebs. And it’s….not so good.
Don’t get me wrong, because Rob and the French girl he’s making out with look great. But Rob always has this stiffness about him that never translates well on-screen, and it definitely shows in this video. The French girl out-acts him and makes him look like he’s playing a sparkly vampire all over again.
Anyway, the full ad was very underwhelming for all the attention that’s been bestowed upon it for the past few months. If they had just dropped it without hyping it at all, it would have been like, ‘Oh look, there’s Rob being cute in a Dior ad’. Now, it’s like, ‘Oh look, there’s Rob in a Dior ad. Wow, it’s so boring.’
Either way, it’s pretty obvious that the Dior people were targeting Twi-hards, and to that end, they’ve released three different videos of the ad. One is the official ‘Dior Homme’ full length commercial, which I’m guessing is the version that will be used ‘officially’ and on TV, etc. Then, there’s the official ‘Uncensored official Director’s cut’, which just a few minutes longer and not really that ‘uncensored’. And then, there’s an interview with Rob, in which he tries to convince us that this wasn’t just a paycheck gig for him, that he was into the aaaart of it all. Ok, sure. I’m sure he didn’t mind the rumored $10 million that came along with that, though.
What do you guys think of Rob’s Dior ad? Was it underwhelming or did it meet your expectations? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
