Someone once described the New Year as just a new start on old habits and this definitely seems to be the case for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart who just can’t seem to quit each other. After sharing what seemed by all accounts a relatively healthy relationship they were rocked by a scandal when Kristen was caught cheating with director Rupert Sanders.
When her cheating was exposed it was clear that she was completely remorseful, it also became clear that try as he might Rob wasn’t going to be able to continue on as if nothing ever happened. After months apart they were spotted together in October, and it has been reported that he invited her to spend the holidays with him and his family in London. An invitation she turned down because of lingering tension with his family.
A source told HollywoodLife that Robs family, “can’t stand Kristen; his family is terrified that he will never get away from her. They think she’s bad news, but there’s something about Kristen that he just can’t resist.”
Kristen may have said no to Christmas in London but it seems she may meet up with Rob so that they can ring in the New Year together on the Isle of Wight. A source said, “She really wants to go to the Isle of Wight with Rob, and it’s a possibility they may celebrate the New Year there, like they have in the past. This is how she wants to bring in the New Year – in a pub, drinking beers, laughing, listening to music with Rob.”
Since their split both Rob and Kristen have remained single, making rumours of a reconciliation seem possible. Rob was linked to Dylan Penn but she publicly denied being anything more than friends – or to be more precise she called talks of the two of them as being “bullsh**.” Kristen has most recently been linked to her Camp x-ray co-star Lane Garrison – but at this point it is nothing more than speculation. It fact it is all speculation at this point – a big ole game of are they or aren’t they – and the truth is something that only time will reveal.
Both Rob and Kristen are entering the New Year with successful professional lives. The only thing they seem to be missing is each other … but with the New Year comes endless possibilities and the chance that these two may be able to put the past aside and start anew.
