American Ninja Warrior Recap 6/16/14: Season 6 Episode 4 “Miami Qualifying”

American Ninja Warrior NBC’s obstacle course competition airs tonight with a new episode called “Miami Qualifying”. On tonight’s show a qualifying round takes place in Miami.

On the last episode, “American Ninja Warrior” traveled to St. Louis, Missouri where competitors faced new obstacles the Rope Junction Into Cargo, Double Tilted Ladder and Crazy Cliffhanger. X-Games gold medalist Kevin Robinson, motorcycle racer Dominic Anderson and “Ghost Adventures” host Nick Groff competed. Former Olympic gymnast turned police officer, Terin Humphrey, returned for another shot at completing the course.  Did you watch the last episode? If you didn’t we recapped it all for you here.

On tonight’s episode “American Ninja Warrior” a qualifying round in Miami featuring the Dancing Stones, the Downhill Pipe Drop and the Mine Field. Contestants include wakeboard champions Rusty Malinoski and Shaun Murray; Olympians Fabien Lefevre and Preston Griffall; and former Las Vegas finalists Joyce Shahboz, Drew Drechsel and David “Flip” Rodriguez.

Tonight’s episode of American Ninja Warrior kicks off in Miami, Florida. The course includes the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe drop, dancing stones, the jump hang, the curtain slider, and the infamous warped wall.

The first athlete to attempt to complete the course is Cuba-native Jorge Posada. Jorge cruises through the quintuple steps, however he falls trying to conquer the downhill pipe drop.

Up next is Andrea Mulryan, a special needs teacher. Andrea moves through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe drop, however she loses her balance on the dancing stones and is out of the race.

The next competitor is professional wave boarder Shaun Murray. Murray moves through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe drop, the dancing stones, the jump hang, and the curtain slider. Unfortunately, after three attempts, he can’t conquer the warped wall.

The next athlete to attempt to conquer the course is Dr. Desiree Walker, a dentist from North Carolina. Desiree makes it through the quintuple steps, unfortunately the downhill pipe drop gets the best of her and she is out of the race.
Vincente King, a Georgia native that battles Autism, tries his luck on the American Nina Warrior course next. Vincente moves through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe drop, the dancing stones, the jump hang, and unfortunately falls on the curtain slider.

Melanie Hunt, a 26-year-old English teacher from Washington, is the next competitor to try to complete the American Ninja Warrior course. Melanie cruises through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe drop, the dancing stones, the jump hang, and the curtain slider. After three attempts, Melanie can not make it up the warped wall.

21-year-old Kavon Sadler is a freelance animator from Georgia, and a first time competitor on America Ninja Warrior. Kavon makes it through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe drop, the dancing stones, the jump hang, and the curtain slider. Kavon scrambles up the warped wall on his first attempt and finishes the course in just 1:52.

Up next is 45-year-old Robert Logan Sr. Robert cruises through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe drop, the dancing stones, the jump hang, and the curtain slider. Unfortunately, he gets injured on the warped wall and has to be rolled away on a stretcher.

His son Robert Logan Jr. attempts the course next while his father watches from his stretcher. Robert cruises through the quintuple steps, the dancing stones, the hanging jump, and the curtain slider. Now he has to climb the same warped wall that his dad just got hurt on. Unfortunately, after three attempts he can’t make it up the warped wall and is out of the race.

American Ninja Alum William Brown AKA “The Spartan” is the next athlete to attempt to complete the course. William flies through the course and scales the warped wall in the fastest time of the night, 1:03.

US Olympic louger Preston Riffaller attempts to complete the American Ninja Warrior course next. Preston completes the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe, the dancing stones, the hanging jump, and the curtain slider. He scales the warped wall on his first attempt and finishes the course in 1:48.

Up next on American Ninja Warrior is marketing consultant Clinton Taylor. Clinton makes it through the quintuple steps, the dancing stones, the downhill pipe, the hanging jump, and unfortunately falls on the curtain slider.
Erick Hernandez, a member of the SWAT team in Miami, tries to conquer the obstacle course next. Erick cruises through the quintuple steps, the dancing stones, the downhill pipe, the jump hang, and the curtain slider gets the best of him and he falls in to the water.

For the first time in American Ninja History, an amputee named Steve France attempts to complete the course. He lost his foot working in a factory when a two ton table press fell on his foot. He cruises through the quintuple steps and unfortunately loses his grip on the downhill pipe and falls into the water.

Todd Bourgeois, a physical therapist, is the next competitor on the American Ninja Warrior course. Todd makes it through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe, the dancing stone, the hanging jump, and the curtain slider. On his third attempt, Todd scales the warped wall, completing the course with 2:11.

Idoko Abuh, a Nigerian native, is the next athlete to attempt to complete the course. Idoko flies through the American Ninja Course and scales the wall on his first attempt, completing this course in just 1:19.

Drew Drechshel, and American Ninja Warrior alum, cruises through the quintuple steps, the downhill pipe, the dancing stones, the hanging jump, and the curtain slider. He scales the warped wall and completes the course in just 44 seconds, taking the best time for the night.

Up next is another American Ninja Warrior veteran, Flip Rodriguez. Flip cruises through the quintuple steps, the dancing steps, the downhill pipe, and unfortunately falls in to the water on the hanging jump and is out of the competition.
