Dance Moms, featuring the always terrifying Abby Lee Miller as dance dictator/instructor, returns this January with an all new season. It’s either going to leave us shaking in our boots or squealing with joy, we’re not sure which, so we’ll prepare for both outcomes. Abby and her studio, comprised of a multi-talented team of young dancers, follow one philosophy that everyone – dancers and dance moms – best remember: Everyone is replaceable. With that notion in mind, Abby’s current roster of dancers will have to work harder than ever if they’re to secure their futures on the squad . . . . Because this season Abby’s embarking on a nationwide journey to scout for fresh blood.
The mothers of the dancers on this show are, to put it nicely, crazy and over-the-top. They tend to treat their daughters like prizes and oftentimes mistake their personal desires for their daughters’. However, regardless of the show’s copious amounts of drama, the series does work to celebrate the art and craft of young competitive dancing. But, let’s be honest, people watch the series for Abby’s frequent fiery outbursts and no-filter attitude; needless to say, we can’t wait to welcome her back into our homes.
