Later, dinner service finds the contestants facing their toughest competition so far this season.

On last week’s episode, Chef Ramsay challenged the remaining contestants to an artistic dish challenge. Inspired by a special appearance from speed artist Tim Decker, each contestant had to create two servings of the same amuse-bouche. The contestants who earned the most points for their team, while impressing Chef Ramsay and guest judge and Epicurious Editor-in-Chief, Tanya Steel, won a helicopter ride to Catalina Island and a meal at Bluewater Avalon. The losing team had to unload and crack hundreds of coconuts in preparation for the next dinner service. During dinner service, both teams struggled with communication and getting dishes out on time to the VIP dinner guests, leading Chef Ramsay to send home a contestant before the elimination ceremony began. It’s down to the final six contestants and after they received their much longed for black jackets – they couldn’t help feeling like they were living out their dream. But by the next morning the guys received an early call. And nothing good can come from an early call. Especially when it involves a car ride to what seems like a nearly abandoned car lot.

Yet the contestants were in for another surprise. Because what they thought was going to be a grueling challenge turned out to be gift. Chef Ramsey had actually dragged them out of bed just so he could show them a blank billboard. While the billboard doesn’t look like much now – Ramsey has informed them that one of their faces will eventually go up on it.

But if they want their faces up there then they’re going to win the steak challenge. Ramsey asked each contestant to make the perfect steak dish. It had to both edible and visually appetizing.

However once the top three were chosen, based off of their appearances of course, the other contestants began to get ugly. Roe, Santos, and Sade all had their steaks chosen. And frankly the other guys are getting sick of Roe. They clearly don’t like her as person.

Plus Roe didn’t help her own case by going above and beyond for the challenge. Instead of cooking merely one steak – she cooked two and called it a “his and hers” dish. And the judges all love that idea, but her fellow chefs did not seem to appreciate what she did. They called it “kissing up” and now they don’t like her as a chef.

Roe went on to win the challenge with her dish and as a reward she was given makeover, a day of shopping, and at the end of her day she got to see her face up on the billboard. So naturally everyone was going to hate on her good fortune when she came back to the kitchen.

Though, again, Roe didn’t help herself. She went on and on about her great day. And then when it came time to show the other contestants how to cook her steaks – she appeared to not remember how she ended up cooking such great steaks. Kind of like she forgot her own way around the kitchen!

Hopefully, she’ll be back to form for tonight’s dinner service. Because Ramsey has the finalist competing against a dream team.

Ramsey has organized a team headed by himself. So of course the Black Jackets were going to have a run for their money. But if they maintained a stead team and kept up with their orders – everything would have turned out fine. Yet that’s not what they did.

The Black Jackets kept messing up their dinner service. And it was over simple things. Like cooking scallops and seasoning the salads. Though La Tash kept either under-cooking over overcooking the items coming from her fish station. And Santos were seasoning salads so much – the lettuce had turned black in some places.

And that all happened in the first forty minutes.

Their dinner service was embarrassing. And they had even received two complaints because of the lateness of the dishes. So Ramsey had to go over to their side and set them straight. He told them they needed to get their act together and they did just that.

The food started to getting cooked faster and they were finally able to push through the appetizers stage. But then the simple mistakes came back to bite them in the rear. Roe kept messing up the meat station and that includes times when she was cooking her own signature dish.

Then for some reason Santos seemed like he was lost. He was helping out anyone and no one could understand what he was doing. So he got yelled at. And that made him try to help out at the meat station.

Though he wasn’t do any good there. Santos took over cooking some of the meat and it wasn’t getting fully cooked in time. Like Roe said, he was cooking like a grandmother. He was moving his hands too slow. So she took over and was later yelled out for taking so much time cooking one piece of meat.

But no one bothered to defend her or explain to Ramsey that she was taking so long in order to fix Santos’s mistake.

Ramsey’s team finished out their dishes before the black jackets. So once he was done with his service – he went over to the blue kitchen. They were five tables behind and Ramsey though they needed his push. And they sugarcoat it but they did need all the help they could get.

Then, after the dishes had all been distributed, Ramsey decided to give Bryant the power over the black jackets. Bryant was the only one Ramsey could trust because Bryant was also the only one that hadn’t dropped the ball that night.

So Bryant had to nominate two chefs for elimination. And he chose Santos and Roe. Roe hadn’t taken responsibility for her failed station and Santos kept trying to shift blame for not being the better wingman. He was caught running around and not cooking yet somehow that’s someone else’s fault.

Ultimately, though, Ramsey had to ask Santos to leave. He was the only one that wasn’t cooking!

In part two of tonight’s two hour episode, many of the chefs were honestly left amazed by Chef Ramsey’s decision. Roe has managed to escape elimination five times. And people like Jennifer just can’t see why Roe is still hanging around.

Jennifer wants to know what she’s not seeing. Because she doesn’t see any potential in Roe. And things have gotten so bad and Jennifer’s opinion of Roe has fallen so low that Jennifer is actually considering sabotaging Roe just to get the other woman kicked out of the competition.

So it was great the next challenge was an individual challenge.

The chefs were told they had 45 minutes to cook for 40 campers. And they weren’t cooking for any old campers either. They had glampers on their hands. Glampers are Glamorized campers. They camp in style and their meals should be able live up to that as well.

Sadly, some of the chefs failed to play nice when they were asked. Everyone else was able to keep an upbeat demeanor with the campers but La Tasha came off as unpleasant. And she also tended to curse out loud if a dish wasn’t going her way. So that turned some people off.

Meanwhile Sade was buttering up her diners. She was making friends and giving them all a great impression of her. And although she did not win the challenge – Bryant still took her with him when he found out he was going to be doing some glamping of his own.

The rest of the girls on the other hand had to do some grunt work. La Tasha, Jennifer, and Roe were asked to clean up the park. And that meant they found themselves cleaning up dog poop and later dealing with nasty little maggots.

The ladies came to be dealing with the maggots after they had to sort through the garbage for recycling day. And what found they out about themselves – La Tasha has the weakest stomach. She came close to gagging several times!

But the tension between Roe and Jennifer kept escalating. Even while they were doing their punishment. Jennifer got upset when Roe was making joke of what they were doing. Then later, after Bryant and Sade had come back, she got upset when Roe tried to supervise them.

THE END!
