Tonight on ABC their gripping new drama How to Get Away with Murder starring Viola Davis continues with an all new Thursday November 20, season 1 episode 9 Winter Finale called, “Kill Me, Kill Me, Kill Me” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, the night of the bonfire reveals what led to Sam’s death.
On the last episode, the team represented a mother who’s on trial for killing her family’s nanny while on heavy medication. Meanwhile, a shocking discovery was revealed in Lila’s case that could have changed everything for Rebecca and Bonnie’s loyalty to Annalise. Tonight’s episode of How To Get Away With Murder begins with Annalise throwing Sam’s possessions out on the front yard. She orders him to get out of her house before she calls 911. Meanwhile, Wes, Laurel, and Connor are en route to their house because they think Rebecca is on her way over there. In the car Wes reveals to Connor and Laurel that Sam killed Lila and the only reason that Annalise is defending her is because he blackmailed her.
At Annalise’s house she is trying to provoke Sam, she tells him all about her affair with Nate and how amazing he is in bed. Sam grabs her by her throat and she screams at him to “kill her.” He lets go of her and tells her that she is nothing but a “disgusting slut” and a “pathetic piece of ass that he was too ashamed to tell his friends about.” Annalise storms out of her house and gets in her car and drives off, Rebecca is standing outside the house with the flashdrive that Nate told her to plug in to Sam’s phone.
Michaela shows up at Annalise’s house and Sam tries to get rid of her. While Michaela is talking to Sam Rebecca tries to sneak upstairs but Sam catches her. She runs in to his bedroom and locks the door and begins downloading the files on the laptop while he beats on the door. Michaela calls Wes and tells him he has to get there ASAP, she thinks Sam is drunk and he is freaking out on Rebecca.
Laurel, Wes, and Connor arrive and convince Sam to let Rebecca come out of the bathroom. When they are leaving, Sam tackles Rebecca and chaos ensues. Rebecca gets away and everyone begins running down the stairs – Sam chases them and Michaela pushes him over the banister and he falls two stories and lands on the floor. They rush downstairs and determine that he is dead and begin bickering over what to do. Suddenly they hear a gasping noise and realize that Sam is actually still alive and he is choking Rebecca to death. Wes hits him over the head with the trophy and his blood splatters Rebecca’s face.
Wes picks Rebecca up off the floor and carries her to the bathroom and washes the blood off from her. Meanwhile, Connor throws up in the kitchen sink. Michaela huddles on the floor crying and Laurel tries to get her to get up. They are about to leave and Asher shows up and begins banging on the door, he’s mad because he knows Michaela stole the trophy from his apartment. They all hide and wait for Asher to leave.
Wes takes Rebecca to a motel, and tells her to stay in the room and not to leave. He rushes back to Annalise’s house to pick up the murder weapon, he pulls it out of the pool of blood by Sam’s head and whispers that he is sorry and leaves.
Wes meets up with Laurel, Connor, and Michaela in the woods. Laurel announces that they need to go back and get the body – that is what is going to get them caught. Michaela argues that they can’t carry a body across the campus on the busiest night of the year. Wes flips a coin to see if they should go back for the body. Meanwhile, Annalise pays ate a visit and says that he was right – she thinks that Sam killed Lila. She cries that she shouldn’t have tried to protect him. Nate’s wife is in the hospital, so he invites Annalise to stay at his house for the night.
Wes, Michaela, Laurel, and Connor decide to head to the bon fire really quick and take pictures of themselves and post them on social media so that they have an alibi. Then, they head back to Annalise’s house to get Sam’s body. They plan to burn it by the bonfire so that no one will notice the smoke. Laurel washes off the trophy in the kitchen sink. They wrap Sam’s body up in a rug and take it back to the woods with them. Asher walks right in front of their van, but he is on the phone with Bonnie and doesn’t notice them.
Bonnie shows up at Asher’s house wasted. She comes on to him and he tries to shut her down and tells her that she has been drinking. She informs him that she is a “grown ass woman and she knows what she wants,” and jumps on top of him and starts ripping his clothes off. Meanwhile, Annalise just finished having sex with Nate and sneaks out of his house when he is sleeping. She calls Sam’s phone and leaves him a voicemail, she says she will stand by him no matter what because she is his wife and she needs him – she begs him to come home. In the woods, Wes, Connor, Laurel, and Michaela douse Sam’s body in lighter fluid and light him on fire. They are about to get in the car and leave and Michaela begins panicking because she can’t find her engagement ring.
Wes heads back to the motel room where Rebecca is, he smashes the flashdrive full of Sam’s files and says they can’t use it because it proves that they were at his house. Connor shows up at Oliver’s doorstep and cries that he screwed up. Laurel takes the trophy they used to kill Sam to Frank’s house and says that she stole it from Asher. Annalise calls Bonnie sobbing that she can’t find Sam – Bonnie rushes over.
The next day Michaela corners her fiancee’s mother and apologizes for her behavior. She gives her the pre-nup that she signed. Connor gets out of the shower, and Oliver wants to know what happened last night and why he was acting so crazy. Connor lies and says that he was high and he mixed pills, and he has a drug problem.
Bonnie texts everyone and tells them to come in to the office. Connor, Wes, Michaela, and Laurel all arrive at the office panicking because they think that Annalise knows what happened. Annalise comes out of her bedroom in her robe, she announces that the police are on their way and they are going to question them about Sam. She says that Sam was having an affair with Lila and she thinks that he fled – she wants them all to be as honest with the police as possible.
Wes has a flashback to the night before – when he came back to get the trophy, Annalise was sitting there with Sam’s dead body. Wes said he was sorry, and Annalise told him not to be.
