Keeping Up With The Kardashians returns with its 9th season and 2-night premiere, tonight’s episode is called, “Loving & Letting Go.” On tonight’s season premiere Kris and Bruce make important decisions about their future together; at the same time, Khloe deals with changes in her relationship with Lamar.
The new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians shows a family working their way through tough times, celebrating life’s triumphs and sticking together to the end. Always outspoken and rarely guarded, Kris, Bruce, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Rob, Kendall and Kylie live by the motto “Family First.” In the episode premiering Sunday, January 19 at 9pm, Kris and Bruce have to decide what’s best for their brood when Bruce is reluctant to give up his peaceful Malibu summer rental and Kris wants the whole family back under one roof.
Khloé continues to go through a difficult time in her marriage, and little brother Rob offers sage advice. Kim and Khloé bring on the blonde, and Kourtney confirms it’s time they all bring sexy back. In the episode premiering Monday, January 20 at 9pm, Khloé is hurt when an interview containing negative comments about her and the family is published, and her sisters rally to lift her spirits. Kim hides from the paparazzi in plain sight when she heads out with bestie Jonathan Cheban and Kris in search of Hot Dog on a Stick’s tasty treats. Meanwhile, Scott commits to his couples therapy assignment by taking up karate – or does he?

The episode begins with Kim and Khloe discussing Twitter and Baby North while getting their hair done. Kourtney appears and Kim and Khloe encourage her to get a new look like them. At the Kardashian-Jenner house, Kris, Bruce, Kendall, and Kylie are in the kitchen chatting about Bruce’s lease, which is ending soon. Then, Kris and Bruce have a talk about the rumors swirling around about their family. The topic then changes to Bruce’s ponytail which Kendall said make him look “hard.” Next, Kim gives Kourtney, Scott, and Khloe a tour of Kim and Kanye’s future home. They talk about how long it will take to build the massive mansion, which comes complete with a music studio and a cabana. While they are at the house site, Khloe tries to call Lamar but he doesn’t answer. It’s clear things are especially tough for her right now.
Meanwhile, Bruce and Kris discuss the lack of space available at the house for Bruce’s things. Then, Khloe and Kourtney run into a friend who basically avoids talking to them. Khloe gets upset because of how people have been treating her since the problems with Lamar and her have been made public. Kourtney tries to comfort her and suggest they go to DASH and make sure no one is there that may make Khloe feel uncomfortable. After talking with a consultant via Skype at the store, Khloe and Kourtney are greeted by a ton of paparazzi when they step outside. This, of course, upsets Khloe, especially because she doesn’t feel she deserves the negative attention she’s getting. She is also upset about the separation from Lamar and his personal problems, which is more than understandable.
Khloe laments to Kourtney that she needs some time off but that other people expect her to work. Kourtney asks Khloe if she’s tried to talk to Lamar, Khloe tells her that, “You can’t really have a conversation with Lamar right now.” They arrive at Rob’s new place. Khloe tells Rob that she misses him and cried when she walked by his old room at her place. She asks Rob if he’s heard from Lamar, he say no. They talk about how often Lamar changes phones. Rob advises her to move out of the house she bought with Lamar. At Kris’ house, Bruce and Kris discuss staying separated. He tells her they get along better when they are apart and that he’s extended the lease on his house. “Don’t you think you should have talked to me about that?” Kris asks him. “I just did,” Bruce replies, “I just don’t see how we could go back now. We just seem to be doing better with our space.” He then tells her they don’t need to let public opinion decide how they should define their message.” Kris agrees that they both need to be happy. In the end, they both agree that a longer separation would be good for them. They then toast a glass of champagne to the “Malibu house.”
Kourtney find Khloe at her house watching I Love Lucy in bed. Khloe invites Kourtney to watch tv with her and Kourtney takes the opportunity to ask how Khloe is doing. Khloe says she is “okay” but Kourtney is still concerned. Khloe changes the subject back to Lucy. Later, Bruce and Kris talk with Kendall and Kylie about their separation. Kylie asks why Bruce wants to live alone when his wife and kids are somewhere else. He tells them that he is happier there and that he and Kris are happy with the way things are, but that he wants the girls to be happy, too. Kylie shares that she is still worried about her dad and his recent decisions.
Later, the Kardashian-Jenner kids arrive at Kris’ house. When Khloe realizes the whole family is there, she asks what’s going on. Bruce and Kris share that they brought them together to discuss their marriage. He tells them that he is staying at the beach house. Khloe asks what that decision meant for Kris and Bruce. They tell the kids that they are happy with the way things are and that they are better as friends. Kylie asks them why they don’t just get a divorce if they just want to be friends. She calls them out on trying to “sugar-coat” the situation. Kris tells them that they don’t want the tension she and Robert Guardianship had during their divorce. She says that she and Bruce are trying to be honest with them, and with each other. Khloe gets mad when she thinks that Kris is yelling at her. She tells Kris, “Don’t yell at me. I’m the wrong one to be messing with right now.” After she calms down, Kendall says that they won’t be siblings anymore if Kris and Bruce divorce. All of her siblings assure her that isn’t true.
The next day, Kim tells Kourtney she overheard Kris talking about Khloe and Lamar. They both worry that she doesn’t want to open up to them. Kim says that Khloe’s situation makes her want to cry. Later, Kris tells Kim that Us Weekly is running a story on Bruce and her the next week. Kim asks what Kris and Bruce told the magazine. Kris says they just told them that she and Bruce were happy with the way things are. They both agree they hate the rumors that get started in gossip magazines.
Elsewhere, Bruce, Kendall, and Kylie are playing golf when they notice paparazzi hiding in the trees, taking photos. Bruce confronts the paparazzi, referring to them as “bottom feeders.” When he returns, Kendall and Kylie applaud him for standing up to them. They all three give the paparazzi the finger and return to playing golf. Bruce asks a group of boys if a chick who can play golf is hot. They agree. Later, the Kardashian-Jenner clan gather again for another family meeting. They talk about Rob’s weight gain then Brody asks Khloe about Lamar. She says that Lamar was in better spirits that day and that he told her he wanted to go see a movie. Then, Brody asks Kris and Bruce what’s really going on with their marriage. Kim tells them that the tabloids have been filled with stories about Kris and Bruce and the state of their relationship. She says that she wanted all the kids there so they can learn the truth about the rumors. Kim, Brody, Kourtney, and Khloe agree that Kendall and Kylie are the most important people in the situation. The family agrees they have to stick together and communicate. Brandon says that the good thing about the situation is how mature everyone has handled it.
The next day, Kourtney brings Khloe to a vineyard and surprises her when Kendall and Kris arrive. Kourtney and Khloe smash grapes and enjoy a good laugh as they learn about making wine. Everyone is pleased to see Khloe smiling and having a good time.
